*mummy_hen*
Have just looked out the window to see what looks like somebody has just cracked an egg over the patio. The girls are going mad eating it, but somebody has obviously just laid an egg without a shell on it. Am really worrying now that this is something to be concerned about, has anyone else had anything like this? Do i need to do anything. The problem is, i don't know which one of the girls laid it. They all stopped laying over the winter months, could this be something to do with trying to start laying again? Any advice much appreciated. Worried mummy hen! Egluntyne
It could be associated with them coming into lay again. All you can do is observe, whip any softies away before they can develop a taste for them, and if they recur on a regular basis, give them a calcium supplement such as Zolca D for a few days. Luvachicken
Ihad one egg that had a hole at the top of it but there was like a "clump" of shell just next to the hole. Mind you since then all eggs have been perfect Evie Charlotte Matilda
