OwenLdn
A Buff Japanese Black tailed Bantam? Sorry to hijack this thread but I have almost the exact same question!- does anyone know what the hen is just inside the same book next to the title page. I think she is a buff laced something…. I thought Wyandotte but her comb is wrong. Dont have the book on me (im at work) so cant say exactly what page number it is.
tom123
It sure is! Its a black-tailed buff Japanese bantam hen... Lovely hens. OwenLdn what does it look like? pic? Tom
OwenLdn
Wow I was right???!! That was a complete guess! Hopefully someone can help me now- this was the hen that I thought "Thats the hen I would like" And then couldnt find out what she was! If you open the book- its the second page- not the hen standing on the flower pot, the page after opposite the title page. She is sitting down with her head turned towards the camera- and on the opposite page there are 2 chicks. Any ideas anyone? A buff laced....???? Cooks
Tom!!! is she a wyndotte?? she has a funny looking comb
The Dogmother
I had a buff columbian wyandotte, who looked just like her. It's definitely not a Japanese though. The colour has been tweaked slightly in that photo.
tom123
Tom!!! is she a wyndotte?? she has a funny looking comb cant find my copy of the book but does she look like this? OwenLdn
Hi Tom, Here she is below- yes she almost looks like the photos you added except she has a dark head not a white head. Those you have put up are Wyandottes arent they- is this hen a wyandotte too?
Cooks
I think wyndotte myself but I am really still learning and I dont have one to compare..
craftyhunnypie
I thought the one on the book could have been a Nankin bantam. Emma.x

mostin
I am really confused now . Which hen are we talking about now? The one on the cover or the one on page two opposite the two little chicks?
OwenLdn
Hey Mostin, we decided the one on the front cover is a Japanese BlackTail Buff Hen. Im hoping you guys might be able to identify the 2nd hen- the one as you say inside the book opposite the 2 chicks on the title page. The laced hen. tom123
the secong hen is another wyandotte but blue-laced... Lovely hens Tom
Cooks
woohoo I was right
Tweety
The second hen may be a Wyandotte, but she is not a blue laced. She looks nothing like my 2 in colour, and her comb is not the same either. She is a beauty though.
