Silver laced wyandottes?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Our (red eglu) arrives on the 1st April, with a GNR and a PP . I am definitely going to get another chook on the same day to join them in the (red eglu) - i had planned on a (white chicken) but having visited Thornes our local chook experts and seen the silver laced wyandottes I am very tempted to get one of those - does anyone have one? Are they friendly and good with children (my son will be 4) and do they lay often?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. :D

Many thanks

K

I have 2 Wyandottes, both blue laced, and they are very lovable girls although a bit daft. The biggest problem I have had with them is that they are very broody - I had one or other of them broody for the whole of last summer, which is a bit of a pain! I don't know how they would be with children, but mine are not terribly fond of being handled - I don't know if this is the case with all Wyandottes though.

Wow :!: They are so beautiful. I am :mrgreen: Where can I get one in this area, near sunny Skeggy? Also interested in blue or green egg laying chook. Which are best to get? Need to work on OH though.

Is in Louth Lincolnshire. Found it on web, they have araucana and cream legbar which do the blue/green egg. they also list wyandottes.

No problem, i have to say i just found the link and have never bought any girls from them. If you get i touch and they look ok it may be worth a quick post around to see if anyone has any first hand experience?

Good Luck
