bellekatz
Alfie and I travelled to Wigan today for his first ever cat show. He was a star in the car - not a peep out of him and settled in well in his pen for the day. Often kittens on their first show get a bit stressed by all the lights and attention but not this kitten - I have never had one like him before who was just so laid back and determined to enjoy his first time at stardom. Anyway he had some stiff competition but came 4th out of 7 cats, 3rd out of 7, 1st out of 8 cats and 1st out of 9 cats and thoroughly entranced all those saw him today with his crossed paws and constant purring! What a little star he was. Jules and her two boys came to see him as well and had a good look round at the hundreds of cats there. His next outing is at the beginning of May in Urmston where we hope he will do even better!!! bellekatz
He came 4th out of 7 in his main class - which was for Brown or Blue Maine Coon tabby boys under 9 months of age. Both myslef and his breeder were thhrilled with that as he was up against much older and bigger kittens and even beat one or two of them. he came 1st in a class of 8 maine coon or norwegian forest kittens, 1st in a class of 9 semi long haired kittens who hadnt wonmore than 1 st prize before, and 3rd in a class of 7 semi long haired kittens who had never been to a show before. It all depends on whether the judges liked him or not as many of the kittens were up against each other in each class!!! Its a long time simce I had a kitten do so well in their first show. He even had his photo taken for the website Cat Planet. I am now hoping that some of the big boys who beat him in his main class will be too old for the next show in Urmston, manchester on May 2nd. Aunty e
Clever Alfie!! Doesn't he look happy and lovely Must keep an eye out for shows for Saffy, as I keep looking at Mau results and thinking 'Saffy has better markings than that kitten'. little chickadee
I've got one that laid back too I'm afraid he's just a Moggie though, so he wouldn't win any prizes. When we get to the vets, he just strolls out of the carrier and looks at us as if to say "What - get on with it then, my time is precious!"
