Couperman
We currently have nine raised beds built down on the plot. The trouble we have had is what to fill them with. I was originally going to go down the 'they will fill up eventually with additional manure etc' route as I didn't want to shell out for a fleet of wagons full of topsoil. Anyway we had a brainwave today and decided to leave the raised beds where they are and lower the rest of the plot by about a foot and hey presto we now have loads of extra topsoil to fill the beds with So we have been busy digging trenches all day and are slightly fatigued. We just need to line the new trench warfare style paths with landscaping fabric and add some pathy type stuff probably chipped bark, eventually. It should help with the flooding problem too. I would rather have underwater paths than underwater veg I will post some piccies when I remember to take the camera. Kev.

I did wonder how we would go on filling ours, but our site has just had a huge heap of top soil donated! I'll be there with my wheelbarrow tomorrow!
