What do you do with plastic bottle tops? The sort that come from milk bottles.

 

We can't recycle them with our plastic (we can do bottles, and only bottles) and I hate having to throw them away.

 

I am considering saving some up for Bogwoppit to do creative things with when he's a bit older like make pictures with them but apart from that I'm stuck for ideas.

 

I'm sure charities used to collect them, but I've asked around and no-one knows of anywhere.

I've been collecting these for months and months after my school's art dept asked for them for a project. They don't need them any more but I can't stop saving them .

 

I've got bags of them in the garage but also don't know where to take them. I think I asked on here a while back but didn't get a definitive answer .

 

So, I'd like to know the answer too .

We have been saving them at school and nursery for a local collection for a needy child. Don't know how much they get for collecting them, but maybe there is something like that in your area. Different charities collect them, try googling milk bottle tops for charity to see if there is one near you.

Make a hole in them and thread them on string to hang over your veggies to keep the birds off!

LMW makes little boats out of them with a cut up straw for a mast and boom and tissue paper for a sail............then sails them in a tub of water

I'll tell my parents about that idea - they have a veg patch. (We don't have room for one).

 

I've had a look on the internet but can't seem to find any charities near here that collect them. I'll keep searching.

No idea to be honest but it was the first idea that came to my head when I read the post - It will rattle and keep the pigeons/birds of the veggies though however you do it but I would cross them over too

You can use the red ones to make green tomatoes think it's time to ripen, by propping it on a truss. Strangely enough it seems to work!

That would involve buying chalky water for my tea and cereal - I'd rather not! I go as far as green tops...would rather have blue or gold tops though !!!

Tried that . Never came on time, constantly got the order wrong and cost a fortune .
