JM
Here are a couple of pics of my run area - the cube and run open out onto this netted area. All the grass that was there has been scoffed, but the girls do have lots to do and to scratch about and dust bathe in (including under a hedge). But to keep the ground sweet, how often should I add garden lime? And should I rake it in or dig it in? Also - as you can see - other than nettles there is no greenery in the area. They do get let out into the main part of the garden when I'm about (but not as often since Bunty has discovered where my neighbour puts her wild bird food - she escapes at the second my back is turned and can always be found there!). I give them vegetable s"Ooops, word censored!"s - but not necessarily every day. Should I give them more greenery? Thanks Jill

chelsea
looks like the perfect chook garden to me...they will love scratching that earth and they will be dustbathing in your garden pots!
Redwing
Looks good to me too, lots of places to hide and have fun
Ain't Nobody Here
Mine are confined (when freeranging) to a smaller area than that which is just earth and some shrubs/plants. They seem very happy to me (although I worry too that they don't get enough greenery to eat ).
