year 6 SAT's

Recommended Posts

I've got all this to come in a years time, for the last time, I will be a mess this time next year

Hope she has a great time. :D My ED did work experience last week and really loved it, she said she felt like a real person getting the bus to and from work and popping out to Gregs for a chocolate muffin every lunchtime :lol:

As I said I was very pleased, he has had extra help in the past from the school as although he absorbs lots of information (he's like a walking encyclopedia) he has trouble putting it down onto paper. His spelling is really bad. But his reading has always been much higher than everything else so to do well in the other subjects is just the icing on the cake. It makes me feel that perhaps he could do better in exams than he did in his secondary transfer test.

Well done to all the Year 6's no matter what the result

My son brought his home today.

He got 5s across the board, apart from a 4 for writing, but they gave him a 5 for literacy as a whole. :D

So we are all very pleased. He's very competitive when it comes to his elder brother, so I think he's relieved to have got the same as he did (even though that was 4years ago).

My son was much the same at that age, he really struggled with anything involving writing at primary level, and was on the special needs register. He is now at the end of yr 8 and doing very well in sciences and a few other subjects. English and other languages are still his weak points, but considering he is at a high achieving grammar school he is really holding his own and exceling in a couple of areas. We think that by the time he reaches GCSE level he will be firing on all cyclinders.

DS's results came through too and he achieved level 5 throughout. :D:D

Claret, that was a lovely thing to do for Rosie. I've taken mine out after GCSEs and A levels, but not SATs. Great idea!

Is Rosie really doing a whole week at secondary? I've not heard of that being done. DS spent a day at his. Is Rosie enjoying it?

Chickencam - I remember 'talking' to you about our boys before! I'm glad your son is still getting on well. Gives me hope for YS's future. It is so frustrating at times as he loves learning about new things and we feel he's not reaching his full potential at the moment, if that makes sense. We are by no means pushy parents, we just don't want him to slip through the net. :D
