craftyhunnypie
Yes - been tidying the veg patch - lots of blossom & leaves had blown on it. I'm thrilled to see my rooster potatoes growing well, peas, broad beans & dwarf runner beans. I also planted a large tub trug with carrot seed eventually. My little gem lettuces are doing well in my hanging baskets too. It's like grow your own egg salad here! Is it too late to grow beetroot from seed in my veg patch? Just wondered. Also thought about sowing some spring onions. Emma.x
Aga n Chickens
I've been planting beetroot in pots every 2 weeks or so for baby leaves to go into salad for a bit of colour. As you can eat beets from the size of golf balls I would think that it's still OK to plant out in the patch. Regards, Christine
eggypeggy
def can still grow beetroot, I started sowing a few weeks ago, but I'll kepp sowing beetroot seed right into Jul I imagine, my allotment favorite, they grow so well and are lovely. We grew loads last year. Most eaten straight away and towards the end of the growing season when I started to get bored of eating them I started pickleling them, so we've had them right through the winter too. Fantastic veg! Good luck.
Valkyrie
You can get mini ones that grow faster now, so plenty of time for sowing for quite a while yet.
