Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I show mine - it involves buying a show kit (white blanket litter tray and bowls), spending about £30 a time in entry fees, bathing and grooming the cat (with lots of white you will need some Vanish on him!!) and hanging around in obscure leisure centres all day long until from 8am to 5 pm unless there is somewhere local to go.

 

There is a plus side though, you meets lots and lots of like minded people who will chat and ooh and arr over your cat all day long, they have lots of cheap stalls selling cat stuff ( you can buy bags of biscuits and litter much cheaper) and your cat may even come home with some beautiful rosettes.

 

 

 

Its a long hard day for the human, but my cats that go enjoy it and I wouldnt take them if they were stressed, no matter what the breeder wants!!!

Fortuately the show she mentioned is being held at a leisure centre with a pool and ice rink, so there is something for the kids to do while judging goes on. I think really the showing would be for the sire's owner - he lost this cat (and another stud) this year in a very unpleasant incident, and is still reeling from it. Continuing the line is very important to him, he is very sad that Angus is unlikely to breed; that's why his little sister (who doesn't yet have a pet name) is staying with the breeder.

 

I think it would be nice to show him off, but am not really 'into' all this at the moment. Mandy would be taking at least one other cat and would be happy to show Angus on my behalf - I agree though that if he doesn't like it, I wouldn't do it.

He wouldn't fit in the pockets of any clothing that I own! You'd need a rucksack to hold him!

 

I'm collecting kitten stuff avidly at the moment, every time we go out we seem to return with another litter tray or toy for him... OH always goes but is secretly as smitten as me! 20 more sleeps before he's here....
