mostin
Good luck. Just don't get as carried away as I did . Let us all know how it goes, and if everything we learned comes flowing back. The course seems a long time ago now

Jules.
Der caught the hen as she was proving elusive to both B & me. B did the deed, but unfortunately "did a Mostin" & took her head off. She was really easy to pluck, took less than 1/2 hour, & she has yet to be gutted. Der brought her foot home, & terrified the girls at his youth club last night with it We told him not to take it there with him Edited to say thanks for moving my post to the correct part of the forum I didn't realise I might cause upset by putting this in "chickens", & there was certainly non intended x

I hope "doing a mostin" isn't going to become part of the omlet lexicon . Somehow I imagined any legacy I would create being a bit more........well..........sophisticated . Let us all know how the gutting and cooking go too .

I had to ask a farmer friend to despatch one of mine and he 'did a mostin' too.

I'm just sort of glad (in a weird way) that it's happened to other people too, and at least I knew mine was definitely "gone" .
WitchHazel
I'm just sort of glad (in a weird way) that it's happened to other people too, and at least I knew mine was definitely "gone" . HI Mostin I did a course last summer. I was second in the circle to do the deed. The girl who volunteered to go first pulled too hard, with the Unfortunate Result. If it hadn't been her, it would have been the next person (me). It's only when you see someone do it and see how easily it happens that you can see that yourealy DON'T need to pull very hard. So, if it hadn't been you, it would have been someone else in your group. I bet Alison gets it on almost every course.

mostin
I bet Alison gets it on almost every course. She did say that it happens on almost every course , but that it's usually a bloke . I guess the adrenalin was just pumping that day. I'm just sort of glad (in a weird way) that it's happened to other people too, and at least I knew mine was definitely "gone" .
