Do we encourage the girls to go to bed or do they take themselves? Approximately what time?

 

They're all still scratching around in their run at the moment, happy as larry

it varies with my lot depending on how active they have been during the day. I have just been out and some are toddling off to bed already where as some late night revellers may stay out till its almost dark, then I will go out about 10ish to shut the cube door.

 

They will take themselves off to bed, but if they are new they may need a helping hand the 1st couple of nights.

They should take themselves to bed, however, if it starts to get dusky and they don't, then shine a light through the eggport section and they will then go in to the Eglu to investigate the light. You can then put your girls to bed

My girls take themselves off to bed when it starts to get dark and when its warm weather i dont bother the lock the door so they get a bit of breeze - its like sleeping with the duvet off on a hot night!

My mum gets up at about 6am and lets the girls out, and they put themselves to bed at about 9pm and i lock the eglu door at about 10 - 11pm (when i'm taking my dogs for their night-time wee's lol)

 

But i have learned not to take the torch with me when i go to lock em up, cuz they come to have a look whats happening

the first couple of nights my son and i had to catch them and post them in one at a time then suddenly third night they put themselves in..now the evenings are lighter its not until 8.30pm so quite late.

Mine go to bed at different times depending on the time of year. As a rule of thumb it's when the light drops so munch that my security light starts to click on.

In the morning I let them into the run around 7.30-8am.

Mine tend to toodle off into their house at around 8pm. It also depends on the weather. If it's really cloudy, dull etc then they go off earlier.

Thanks everyone. My H was trying to get them in around 9pm but they were having none of it! They went in of their own accord just before 10pm. Hopefully they'll sleep 'til about 8am!
