Ain't Nobody Here
I'm planning on starting it tomorrow . Two friends at work are on it and swear by it . I don't "do" diets (I usually try to lose weight just by eating less and exercising more) but I'm going to have a go at this one. Anybody else ever been on it? Any advice or experiences gratefully received .
sparkysmum
I really like Tesco Diets. Managed to lose 10lbs on it. (put it all on again but that was me & not the diet). Good interesting recipes, not boring & repititious. Lots of variety.Good luck Ax
bigmommasally
I've not tried it - Weight Watchers worked for me, but I think the main reason it worked was that I was doing it with lots of work mates so we supported each other. So you may find the South Beach diet works well for you if you are doing it with your work mates.
ClaireG
It looks similar to the GI diet. I find the GI really easy and have had sucess with it Good Luck.
theherd123
Must admit ive never done a diet and i live by the rule that if you have a bit of what you fancy every now and then and the rest of the time eat sensibly you'll be ok Good look with the South Beach one - let us know how you get along
ChrisP
What is the South Beach diet? Sorry, I'm being quite slow today
Space Chick
Is that the "Atkins Light" diet? Big limit on carbs and lots of fresh veg and fish? I lost 5 stone on Weigh"Ooops, word censored!"chers and have put 4 back on!! Over a course of 4 years though.......

Ain't Nobody Here
DebsL, please do . It would be great to have a "diet pal" . I got the books off the internet (both for £10) - the cookbook looks really good, the actual diet book hasn't arrived yet. Nicola, I'm really pleased to hear that . Most people I've mentioned it to have never heard of it . Well done losing 12lbs - I hope I can do that well! Had a freshly laid egg, scrambled with a little dill and smoked salmon for breakfast today . Oh, and I went for a 2 1/2 mile run (slow but didn't stop & walk at all!) Space Chick
OK ANH I'll join you! I'm considering signing up online, but don't know yet, but thats an easy way to get the materials!
chelsea
Good luck ANH, I am sure you will do really well . I hadn't heard of the south beach diet to be honest. Let us know how it goes. I've been on slimfast for 1 month and lost 18lbs I know Slimfast isnt for everyone but it has worked wonders for me. I am also drinking 2 litres of water every day - I cannot emphasise enough how drinking lots of water really helps when you are slimming. Lesley
My daughter does the South Beach diet - it is really sensible and works well. She doesn't feel hungry. The first two weeks routine really works and is a great kick start. There is a good cookbook as well - you should fine one in Amazon Marketplace , GreenMetropolis or Abebooks. I didn't stick to it as it isn't as easy if you're vegetarian but now that i eat the meat we've produced I might give it a go. My big problem is that our potatoes are just ready to start harvesting........and i didn't put all that work in to watch others eat them
Ain't Nobody Here
I have actually got the cookbook, Lesley and it looks really good (we've already had Coconut Chicken which even the fussy teenagers loved ). I got both books for £10 . Day 2 and going well .

Ain't Nobody Here
I've lost 1 1/2 pounds (since Sunday) . It's a start . Would you believe I have no eggs . I need one egg for breakfast each day and I've not had one for 2 days .
Chickvic
The 2nd one just arrived today so I'll PM you the ISBNs . Could you send them to me too ANH? I'm interested in this. Congrats on the weight loss so far! Although I'm not getting any eggs either

Space Chick
Great news about the weight loss ANH I have ordered the books, so fingers crossed I'll be joining you by the weekend. Chick Vic, great if you do too! Interesting though that you aren't getting any eggs My Sarah-Jane has gone 6 days without laying, which I am now putting down to the heat. OH suggested that maybe we should dunk her belly in cold water, as if it works for broodies it might work for a hot chicken.
Ain't Nobody Here
Well, that's Week One over and it was really easy . Didn't crave anything naughty (even when the family had fish & chips and strawberries and meringues ). I shouldn't really be standing on the scales every day, I know, but it looks like I've lost 5lbs already (although it does fluctuate day to day ) . Ain't Nobody Here
Nearly at the end of week three and have lost roughly half a stone . Finding it really easy to stick to. I've started having small amounts of carbohydrates (bran flakes for breakfast) but still avoiding bread, pasta, rice & sugar. Seems like it worked for Stephen Fry too .
