alih
Good luck with your A levels, ChrisP! Tell me how to get teenagers to do revision?! Had the best day yesterday - watched my middle daughter (13) play in the finals of her polo tournament and WIN, then was asked to present the prizes (much to her utter mortification), watched some more lovely horses in the sunshine then sat in my mum's garden with my daughters for her 70th birthday and had cake!!! I love my family and I love the sunshine
missuscluck
What a lovley read whist I eat my morning yogurt (diets here too ) sound like you all had a lovley weekend in the fab weather. Spent the morning lashing up another chicken shack for another broody hen. Had to seperate her as she was still in with our other broody and she had taken to stitting on top of her trying to share the egg sitting resulting in a broken egg. Went to two birthday partys, one in the afternoon and one at night. The afternoon one was an 8th birthday for my godson and the evening one was an 80th!! (the 8th was much more fun )
poachedegg
Good luck with your exams ChrisP, my ES has Maths A level today. We had a lovely day yesterday too - up early to let the chickens out and hang washing out, went to B&Q for some MORE compost (despite buying a massive bale on Saturday ) to pot on our seedlings, bought a pink deck chair to match the cube for chicken watching. Sat out in the garden and read the papers whilst DD was in the paddling pool. ES took a break from revising and cooked us all a tasty bbq and after let the chickens out for a freerange. Rearranged where the guinlu is situated and 'prettified' the patio; watered the tomatoes, carrots and rocket.......did a little ironing and it was then 10.20pm - just where did the day go?! Sam Palmer
Spent most of the day in the garden. First following my cat around, trying out my new camera. Hanging out the washing. Made lunch - roasted vegetables and cous cous with home-grown radishes, ready for when husband and youngest son came in from doing a car boot sale. Eldest son in own room all day revising for GCSE maths today and history coursework. So only saw him for meals. Spent afternoon clearing area up near the vegetable beds, where we've decided the Cube will go when it arrives on the 11th. YS helped a lot too. Husband made some yummy fruit and cherry scones, which went down very well with a cup of tea after all that hard work. Only 10 more days to go!!! ChrisP
Good luck with your A levels, ChrisP! Tell me how to get teenagers to do revision?! Well, I'm just focussed on getting enough to go to uni, plus the idea of revising out in the garden in the shade with the girls is very tempting Sounds like everyone had a great day, and on the BBC website says it was the hottest day of the year yesterday Already been and dropped a at the vets this morning, and had breakfast, this time yesterday I was still asleep... Jillus
Yesterday I went to Argos when it opened and bought myself a wooden steamer garden lounger with a cushion and I road tested it all day long. It worked well and as I have today off I thought I might complete the testing again. At one stage I rushed into the WIR as I thought one of the girls had expired but she was just sunbathing in a very odd fashion, I wish that I had had my camera with me! I cooked egg and chips for tea as I was too hot to think of anything else! Just the one glass of Pimms with tea plus the last of the Yorkshire strawberries. My pre hols diet starts today, wish me luck, no Pimms, no chips and certainly no more chocolate for a while.
Seagazer
OH polished his motorbike in readiness for the TT race on the Isle of Man at the end of the week. We then went to Emmetts Garden near Sundridge in Kent. Its National Trust and a lovely garden. They had a meadow set out with games for children so we and YS had games of skittles, noughts and crosses, quoits (sp?) etc. Then had a nice little lunch and bit more walking round the garden. Came back and took Cookie for a walk to the park with OH, then sat in the garden with a cool beer and the newspapers before cooking dinner. Lovely day

Lewis
Is that a tortoise I spy? its huuuuge! No that's a full black sack of rubbish in the old rabbit run. Sorry not a very clear photo when its so small - the tortoise run isn't is the photo, my torts are only about 14cms diameter. Hope the biology exam go well. I was going to say! Photos would be good posted in other animals Hughie goes out in the garden in the run with the guinea pig but fir the first half an hour he tries to get out. Biology was ok thanks, although only half of the topics came up
