craftyhunnypie
Me & hubby work together - we have our own business & it works well. I just tell him to shush if he gets on my nerves - I'm always right! We have our own interests after work - I craft , he invents, I do some baking & he washes up!! we both have our own chickens to clean out etc, I read a craft magazine, he reads elektor magazine, he barbeques & I garden. I go on Omlet forum, he goes on Martin Lewis forum. We have our own cars, so we can go out independently if we want. We even have 2 caravans & lots of sheds to escape each other if need be. It's nice to sit down on the garden bench together & have a beer or wine. I love my hubby - he's my best friend too! Emma.x
katieadams
Wish my husband worked at home, I miss him when he's at work Mind you, he'd probably hate it, I can't stop talking to him when he does need to work at home I don't half distract him
chickencam
My hubby has a fairly flexible job and he works from home sometimes, and the only thing that I don't like about that is I can't get on the forum becuase he is using the computer. We are really good friends and would like to run a business together and maybe we will one day. We love having the house to ourselves when the children are at school and sneaking out for lunch together.
*mummy_hen*
I must be the exception the the rule i think. As much as i like a little 'me' time - i would love OH to be at home more often!!!
Ms Marple
You are not alone muumy_hen!! I too love the company of my OH and am really happy when he is at home. He is my best friend and has been for the last 28 years after all. I suppose it is why we have always lived in big houses - there is enough room to escape if necessary
Redwing
I used to work around the country staying in hotels Mon-Fri, last June I started a normal job with the same company and have been living at home proper since Dec and working 9-5 in Luton OH drives me seriously insane sometimes as I am not used to having people talking to me after 6pm Thank goodness for the X Box! I love my OH dearly but the two hours I spend alone in the car commuting each day are blissful I think the thing is to stay out of each others way as much as possible
Cooks
I am the other way, I pine my hubbys company when he's not here and at work , I have to speak with him at least once whilst he's away, and he's always back for tea so he's never gone long Although he does have his moments
Alis girls
The kids are driving me mad - can I put them in the shed? They have had friends round had a lovely time, then we get "can we have a sleep over" - i said no as I want an easy time due to the next few weeks being stressful for me. I think I will put them in the shed = throw in a few spiders and a woodlouse or 10 - I can see me being reported for child cruelty - what about cruelty to mums
craftyhunnypie
I love my hubby being around too. We have plenty of interests & hobbies to keep us from annoying each other & getting under each others feet. We also have plenty of sheds to lurk in. meezers
After being made redundant for the umpteenth time, my husband decided to work for himself 18 months ago. He has set up office in the corner of the living room and it irritates the hell out of me, think I've been in a foul mood for the last year I work part time but used to love being in the house on my own, now he hogs the phone so I can't call my friends, and if they do phone me, I can't have a good natter cos he's sitting 10 ft away, I can't have the music channel blasting out of the TV while I do the house work - I can't even do the house work ( hoovering ) without checking he's not on the phone first, he's always on the boys pc or laptop, he expects me to make him cups of tea all the time cos 'he's busy' and he has a constant stream of men in suits coming through the door when I just want to slob out and be antisocial !! Can you tell I'm annoyed ??

Maybe he could get a business grant to help out with costs
Happy-Mama
must admit I would love it if my OH could work from home, I really miss him when he is away, tho I do get how irritating it would be to lose your home during business hours and not be able to slob about if you felt like it... what about converting the garage or the shed idea sounds great too?
