FoxFighters
Me and my mum have endless arguments about how you should have a scone. She thinks it's best to put the jam on first and the cream on top, but I prefer it the other way round. Please tell me who you agree with and give some reasons why too, so I can tell my mum how you REALLY have a scone!!!!! Holly x
Space Chick
Definately Jam, then the cream on top, otherwise the jam isn't evenly spread However Holly, I think if you like it the other way then thats the right way for you!

*mummy_hen*
I believe the traditional way to eat scones is clotted cream first and then jam....this is how i eat it but i'm sure both are acceptable
Guest
oh those endless scone arguments! Wars have started over less Are you a jam-ontopian or a cream-ontopian? Personally I like my scones (sans dead flys) with a little butter, then a blob (not a smidgeon) of strawberry jam (other jam flavours will be accepted at a push) then a nice big spoonful of clotted cream. In NO circumstances must the other half of the scone be placed on top, this would be an utter travesty!
sunshinesupernova
Now what have you done ? I'm going to have to go and make some scones !! I like sultanas in mine - with butter on. No jam, no cream.

LesleyH
I like my scones with jam, with butter, with jam and butter, with jam and cream, with cream and jam or with butter, jam and cream - as you can tell I am not too fussy!!!!! I LOVE SCONES!
Looney
Cream on top as it is less sticky when you bite into it and get some stuck around your top lip. Also it is hard to get the jam onto the cream but easy peasy to get the cream onto the jam Although the really tricky thing is when you only have one knife. Then it depends on which pot (i.e. the jam jar or the pot of cream) you don't want to be contaminated with the other!
FoxFighters
Thanks Mummy hen- you agree with ME!
Lesley
I like my scones with jam, with butter, with jam and butter, with jam and cream, with cream and jam or with butter, jam and cream - as you can tell I am not too fussy!!!!! I LOVE SCONES! It must be something to do with the name then ....as long as there are no 'squashed flies' in the scones then I'm happy ...and it has to be butter, then jam, then cream - on each half! ...if I only had one knife then I'd rather have jam in the cream then cream in the jam - hopefully, there would be jam left for another day and wouldn't want rancid cream in it!
