I think that would have been it - first time round. I didn't quite know what to do with myself - hence epidural - doesn't that wear off quick too! I normally have a very high pain threshold - had root canal treatment at the dentist with no injections, no gas, nothing. Twas easy peasy.

Dentists - pain killers or like me?

Root canal with no pain relief  I am going tomorrow for a root canal treatement and will be going for the pain relief option. I have had a filling with nothing before as I hate the injections possibly more than the pain but as I have never had root canal work done before I am not going to be taking any chances - so looks like I will be dribbling for most of tomorrow afternoon :(

I think that I would like to come back to Earth as my dog as she has the life of Riley. If you could come back as an animal, which one would you choose?

About 5.5 hours but I wake up after 4.5 needing the loo  and then usually just doze for the last hour. Not long enough I know but its the most I can manage lately.

Although I spend a ridculous amount of time on this forum I am also on a few others, 2 rabbit ones and 2 sewing/patchwork ones. What other forums are you on?

Too many sometimes while other times I can hardly get on at all what with fighting over the computer with DD and OH uses this room for work. He's always working - starts so early and finishes late. So when they are both out it's a case of whahey, my turn! Sometimes I sneak in quick!

Do you have the computer/laptop to yourself or do you have to share?

I have my own plus DH, ES & DD have one.YS will be bought one in a few weeks. The children get one when they leave primary school as a special 'moving on' gift primary. We find them essential for homework which they can do on the move if necessary. The children see it as a mark of their new independance and maturity.

I am a keen cook and think that one of the most valuable things that I can pass on to our children is the ability to cook good healthy food. During the school holidays they always shop for and cook a 3 course meal for myself and DH which is a real treat as they are now great cooks  . Are you a good cook and what is your favourite dish to cook?

My brother is doing our family history - they all moved to London from the countryside and then the next generations moved further out again! Some originated 15 minutes away from here and we never knew! Spooky!

My favourite dish is really OH's favourite dinner. I call it a cholesterol special. Mixed seafood (mussels, squid, prawns and scallops) done in a sherry/dijon sauce with cream. Onions, celery and mushrooms all thrown in with garlic too, served with penne pasta. Divine! Other than that I love doing roasts - any sort.

So favourite dessert then?

So many desserts to choose from I can't possibly pick one!

Tiramissu or Home made pavlova or how about profiterolls or baked cheese cake or my mums pineapple thing cake - I love them all and want some of each right now

When you eat out do you have 3 courses or do you have starter & main or main and dessert?

No, can't possibly allow you to be a thread killer BMS!

It depends. When I am with my friend we just have starter and main course. With OH I feel obliged to pig out and have the lot. When we go to DD's college they have so many courses on special nights - but the portions are smaller - and it is just about right. Not too much and not too little. On ordinary nights you get 3 courses and little snacky bits before and after. We do get pampered there. One of Basingstoke's hidden treasures. :D

We don't go out very often though. Do you go out regularly for meals?

I couldn't work out where the rest of the topic had gone for a minute there Koojie, thought I was on the other one but with some pages missing! :D

Sometimes not for ages, then suddenly 3 at once! Meals, not buses.

Planned to eat out as treat before theatre tomorrow, then a friend talked me into lunch (which is rare)also tomorrow, before I get the train, plus I think there's a "surprise" family meal out Sunday! :D:D

What ideas do you have to give a 13 year old daughter fun in the holidays, something to get out of bed for but not too exhausting?

Bless you Koojie for saving me from a fate worse than death!

Ideas for a 13 year old - difficult one as I no idea what she's into -

Any sort of crafting? - Jewellery making might be fun for a 13 year old

How about getting her to clear out cupboards and the loft to sell all your unwanted stuff at a boot sale - with her keeping the proceeds for a shopping trip at the end of the hols.

My loft is choc a block with stuff that I can't bear to part with, I even have my old school work up there somewhere! Are you a hoarder?

Big time hoarder me - it really hurts to throw things away - and then shortly after you find a use for it.

Sorry Sheila - I confuse myself quite often, just sharing it a bit!

DD has been busy tidying her room - you can see the carpet and she even hoovered. The loft is rather bulging at the seams as a result of boxing things up. Apparently where it was so messy she trod on a tube of paint and it has gone all over a favourite item of clothing and a bit on the carpet too. I wonder how long it lasts?

Are your children tidy?

Saving you back Koojie!

Both my girls are the messiest girls in the world! My eldest doesn't live at home anymore but even having her own home hasn't changed her  DD2 leaves her room like a tip every time she goes out, I don't know how she bears to come back after a night out and be faced with all the mess she left behind!

Because I work full time I have a cleaner once a week, I couldn't manage without her! Do you have a cleaner?

No. On the whole I think that truth is therapeutic and you should be honest with people, but you have to pick your battles! Sometimes people aren't ready to hear the truth even if you're prepared to tell it.

What book are you reading at the moment?

Hot chocolate without extra sugar - I find it's sweet enough. Rather like the cream floating - but that's more for treats when we go out. Not too keen on the marshmallows with it. I also don't eat marshmallows if they are made with beef gelatine. We used to be able to get vegetarian marshmallows a couple of years back, but they've stopped them now. I am rather partial to Starbucks coffee frappucino's with the cream and tons of cinnamon - and their blenders should be in tip top order - no large crunchy ice bits thanks.

Do you have a favourite coffee/cafe thingy to visit?

No but I have knocked drinks over the tables when out - if it wasn't me then another family member would chip in to carry on the tradition! I always used to knock tea over at my grandmother's house (my dad's mum) and it happened with such alarming regularity that I got rather paranoid and yes - it happened again and again and again. I ended up hiding under her huge dining table. Then I used to be too scared to go there (apart from a nasty ghosty in the bathroom but that's another story) because I thought Nan was cross with me. She wasn't of course, but I was only 6 or thereabouts.

Have you ever done anything that frightened you?
