Fourbecameeight
One of the ex-batts is laying thin shelled eggs, they are all on ex-batt food but i thought i would add limestone to see if this helps. My questions are: 1. How much limestone do I add to the pellets? 2. Do I add cod liver oil to help it stick? 3. If I do need cod liver oil what sort do I get? 4. Will the increased calcium levels be okay for the others with normal shell thickness? I hope someone can help and thank you
Ain't Nobody Here
I may be corrected by someone more knowledgeable but this is what I do: 1. How much limestone do I add to the pellets? I add half a teaspoon or so to their afternoon corn. 2. Do I add cod liver oil to help it stick? I do. A tiny trickle does the trick. 3. If I do need cod liver oil what sort do I get? I just bought some from a chemist. 4. Will the increased calcium levels be okay for the others with normal shell thickness? I think so but I know there is an issue about giving them too much. I can't quite remember what it is though . I think you shouldn't keep on giving it for too long, maybe a week at most at a time.

Egluntyne
I use the horsey type cod liver oil which I buy from an equestrian suppliers. Not only does it help the limestone flour to stick to the pellets, but it also contains Vit D3 which is essential for calcium metabolism.
