Eglu coming by courier - It's here!!

Recommended Posts

I'd ring them and be firm. I was expecting mine on a Tuesday and booked the day off work, I rang in the morning to get an estimated time and was told that they hadn't put it on the van because it was too big and they would deliver it the following day. After much anger from me, as I was back in work the next day, I eventually got it later on that day, however, I did need to speak to the area manager - twice, and in the end the manager brought it himself in an estate car! It was virtually dumped on my door step.

As great as Omlet are, I don't think they have chosen the best delivery company.

Tony from Aviaries for you however was the complete opposite. I had a call the day before from the courier company giving me a 4 hr timeslot, Tony rang to check they'd been in contact. On the delivery day, the delivery company rang to say they were 20mins away, and when they arrived they said they would put it wherever I wanted it. Tony then rang to check that everything went according to plan.

Just goes to show that you get what you pay for. Omlet delivery around £30, Aviaries for you just over £80!

mine came the day before too, i'm just glad i was in because i told them to put it in the back garden if i was out, and it was too big to get through the back gate, me and os had to lift it over :!: no way the delivery driver could have done that on his own, i didn't realise how heavy it would be, nearly killed me

This is probably too late now, as you've most likely got it. It was probably on the same van as mine, actually, he said all his following deliveries were in the Brum area. There was a rather fetching purple eglu on the van, and that's the colour I would have picked, if the choice had been all mine!

Omlet rang me yesterday (thursday) to confirm delivery for today and gave me a three hour delivery slot, so they couldn't have been more specific, really. Maybe it made a difference as they were delivering live chickens?

Nope, it's next Friday :D Nice to know there are lots more Eglus and chickens in Brum though :D

Thanks all for your replies, I will see if I can get the Thursday off work, I don't make a habit of short notice leave so I might be OK. As my doorbell is a bit dodgy I may have to spend the whole two days in the front room, where the computer is (on the forum  )

Hope it gets to you the day they say it will!

The thing is I can see why they use Nightfreight as a courier, as usually the service is ok, but there has been many cases where it's not been, (but most of the time the goods aren't actually damaged-and they're also reasonably cheap, (eg, a lot cheaper than other companies, so the customer gets a better deal.

Well, my new Eglu arrived at 8.20 this morning, and I can't fault Nightfreight at all. Very pleasant driver who told me he had my Eglu on his lorry yesterday but didn't call as I had specified Friday with Omlet and he adhered to his written instructions :D

Eglu is now sitting on the lawn, having a free wash down courtesy of the rain  . I will check it out later.

:D
