Alli - diet pills

Recommended Posts

Alli are designed to help stop any fat you do eat (& you do eat some & NEED to eat some) from being absorbed into your body.

They increase weight loss by half again, so for every 2lb you lose, they will help you lose another 1lb.

However, if you eat something very fatty, then it will fly straight out the other end, something that is know charmingly as 'seepage' :anxious:

:eh: will try to avoid that then!

I have have been pm'd some great advice and from people with personal experince so will be going ahead but carefully :D

Thanks for all the input everyone its ben really useful to hear the pros and cons so I know what I'm letting myself in for :? I'll take one day at a time and regularly review if its worth it.

ta :D

A few of us are doing Diet Chef where the food is delivered to your door. Reasonably cheap, healthy, low GI get plenty of fruit and veg.............and it works. All good quality food - nuts, seeds, Nakd bars etc. We are all now slender(ish). http://www.dietchef.co.uk

No honestly I've tried loads of diets and this one works for me. Nearly 2 stone lighter in 12 weeks. Not been this weight for 10 years.

I lied we are still not slender but we are wearing clothes we thought would never make it out of the wardrobe again.

I have had a problem with my weight most of my adult life. In common with many people I am just too efficient at using my food and my metabolism is a normal slow to slower.

My weight is OK now having got into a decent exercise regime. No expensive gyms for me .. tried that and wasted a lot of money. I run. Very hard to get going initially but honestly it's the cheapest and most efficient way to keep your metabolism high.

There are no short cuts. You have to eat less than your body needs to lose weight and if you simply reduce your calories your body, being built to survive in poor times, reduces its energy needs and the weight loss slows down.

This is where a buddy system can work .. weight watchers etc. Somebody to save you before you eat that extra food.

I know it's hard but taking a pill that prevents you absorbing food seems just awful when so much of the world is starving.

3 at work are trying these pills and losing weight but have the side effects as well. We blame the blocked loos on them.

Practice nurse is sending me for 12 weeks of diet and exercise so will try that, those pills sound very drastic but it is hard to get motivated and stick to a good eating plan. :(

Good luck whatever you do. :D

I went on a 2 day course this week about weight control and Alli was one of the subjects for discussion (lots of pharmacy assistants who have been asked to flog them) the prescribed stuff is twice the dose, there are guidelines in the NHS and peolle have to be monitored properly, they are supposed to be used as part of a calorie controlled diet. They do have side effects that can be very unpleasent if you eat a fatty meal

2 tips I picked up, women burn 1500 cals just doing nothing so a diet giving you 1500cals as a minimum should help you lose weight but you also need 90mins exercise a day too, no one should be on a low calory diet unless you are under medical supervision.

Most diet pills are a complete waste of time and money including Addios
