Just heard the actor Karl Malden has died, he was 97. Mollie Sugden has also passed away. It's not a good week.

 

I used to watch Karl Malden in Streets of San Francisco when I was little.

I've never heard of him but I'm sorry to hear about Mollie Sugden. She always reminded me of my granny - who has the same way with words and used to have a similar look about her.

I couldn't remember his name, but OH knew of him straight away and said he was the one with the funny nose.

I remember when I was very small, listening to the radio at Sunday lunchtime and Molly Sugden was Jimmy Clitheroe's mum in the Clitheroe Kid. I thought it the funniest thing ever.

 

It was a more innocent age.

I remembered Karl Malden straight away . I had no idea he was that old . Shame about Mollie Sugden too .

Yes! I only remember his name because his nose had a big impact on me as a child (the things you remember ) Ever since then I have called any similar nose a "Karl Malden" Not surprising then that most folk don't know what I am on about

Karl Malden, we used to call him 'bum nose'. Sorry Karl still 97 that's a fair old age.

They showed Millie Sugden on BBC Breakfast this morning with Wendy Richard in Are You Being Served and of course they are both now R.I.P Very funny actress.

Oh bless - I knew of both of them. Karl Malden more from Streets of San Francisco with Michael Douglas and we always used to watch Are you Being Served?

 

But they got to really good ages.

Ditto to Seagazer. When Karl Malden was bad - he was horrible, but loved him in that part. I was chatting about this with mum in the car this morning and how Mollie was such a character.
