Alison M
Thought other members might have problems with their dogs and chooks living in harmony. One of our German Shepherds spent all day lying by the eglu/run. We have sorted problem by installing an electronic fence system. You run a cable around the area you want to enclose e.g. Eglu and run, the dog wears an electronic collar and when he goes near the enclosure , the collar bleeps, if he tries to cross the wire or does not retreat within 2 seconds he receives a 2 second stimulus. Much better than an electric fence as you only get zapped if you are wearing a collar It has nw trained our dog he no longer has to wear the collar and now watches the chooks from a distance and doesn't bite at the run. motherhen
That might be a real help for some people. Do you think it would work for teenage sons and fridges?

Sheilaz
Do you think it would work for teenage sons and fridges? Great idea, Jane. But, I thought your sentence was going to say "teenage sons & foxes", so read it that you want to keep the evil fridge away from the Eglu! I have an evil fridge that blew up a few days ago so it was on my mind. I like the original dog training idea too.
Popcorn
Evil Fridge Now, that's a first!
motherhen
I love my fridge - I just don't like the way it mysteriously empties when teenage offspring (and frequently their friends) are around. Perhaps I should go back to one of those fridge locks you get for toddlers!
Popcorn
Or you could do what my Mum used to do and hide the nice things in the tumble dryer! I've found many a chicken breast in there
motherhen
I dare not ask about rates of food poisoning at your Mum's - but you seem to have survived
Sheilaz
:lol:Desperate measures Gina, but I envisage accidentally tumbled chocolate or wine, too risky! But, I should go for the electric fence & collars, Jane! (Swiftly back on topic!)
