Valkyrie
Remember walnut whips had the walnut at the bottom and you could get your tongue in the cone (same for the creme eggs) now you're lucky to get your pinky finger in there to scoop out the fluff. bigmommasally
Remember walnut whips had the walnut at the bottom and you could get your tongue in the cone: Wow - I'd forgotten that the walnut used to be at the bottom I'm loving the sweetie memory lane, I used to love Jamboree Bags and Jubblies. And plain crisps with the little twisty packet of salt. Does anyone else remember Lord Toffingham ice lollies, they were my favourtie but no one else I know remembers them and now I'm beginning to think I'm making them up. Valkyrie
Yep, half a walnut at the top and the other half was sunk into the chocolate underneath the white fluff at the bottom.
clootie
Please does ANYONE remember Five Boys chocolate? It had the faces of, yep you've guessed it, five boys in the bar. I'm beginning to think I imagined this stuff as no-one in my family has a clue what I'm on about and I'm the youngest Should I call for the men in white coats now? Valkyrie
Oops looks like they found you. Yep, sorry I don't remember it. But not to worry someone, somewhere, someplace in the universe probably does. My nan used to work at the Nestles factory - come birthdays I would get lots of fabby stuff in a big parcel through the post. Animal bars my favourites - I used to collect the wrappers - been a big hoarder ever since!

Valkyrie
Sometimes they do trial runs in different areas to see whether they are popular. Probably not so popular with boys, so it got withdrawn. Pink Panther bars?

Valkyrie
Er, the sailor suits look familiar. Good grief they are rather frightening - especially the first one in the row - looks like he is about to burst out crying!

clootie
I might have seen them at the tills in Tescos - they all look 10 years old in there. No eye contact, no pleasantries, just the uncanny knack of throwing items at you. AND, when did that alarm start going off and the illuminated arrow points at you whenever you ask for a bag? Oh oh - where's the fire extinguisher?

Mutrix Farmers
as all the shops seems to be employing children now, perhaps "checkout skills" should be on the National Curriculum! When I started working for Lloyds Bank, we were told how to speak to customers, and never ever hold a conversation with another colleague while serving someone. My cheeks used to ache by lunchtime from all the smiling!
