mostin
Fabulous picture . Maybe your light sussex is like my Lilly though, she takes "at least!" an hour longer than everybody else to lay her eggs , so she knows all the traffic will be gone by the time she has to go . It takes Willow forever to lay her eggs, I have a peek and then an hour later she's still in there!

We always joke that Lilly has taken Cosmopolitan or Elle magazine in with her, I've never known a chicken take so long . How funny that your Willow is the same , I wonder if it is in the genes . Ms Marple
Fabulous picture . We always joke that Lilly has taken Cosmopolitan or Elle magazine in with her, I've never known a chicken take so long . How funny that your Willow is the same , I wonder if it is in the genes . We have the same problem with George - she always takes at least an hour if not longer - usually late afternoon, so at least the others have vacated the space by then. I think she just likes lying on all the eggs - which she gets to do when I am at work. That pic is brilliant - like the days of communal changing rooms! All my girls prefer to go one at a time - so there is always a queue- somebody in the other part of the cube, somebody at the bottom of the steps.. The Cher"Ooops, word censored!"yls still lay in the eglu and have got the hang of the nesting box except sometimes ' if ya gotta lay then ya gotta lay' hence the occasional random egg on the grass - only when the box is occupied.
