It's taken us roughly 6 and a half months to make it and is roughly 7'x5' (when counting the edging!). Here's a picture...I think it gets brighter as you go down it and as I did more revision! ubereglu Posted July 22, 2009 Author Share Posted July 22, 2009 For a blanket that size you need to knit 96 six inch squares and then stitch them altogether and edge it-you have to knit a really long strip, about 15 stitches wide in double knitting garter stitch. I use to have a similar one that my nan made it was so lovely and cosy to cuddle up on the sofa with. Then when we got our puppy he took a liking to it and it became his! I think this one is technically mine, but it gets to stay in the spare bedding cupboard at the minute until the blankets all need changing round and other people come to stay! ubereglu Posted August 24, 2009 Author Share Posted August 24, 2009 The amount of stitches tended to vary as we used so many different types of yarns. In general we used Double Knitting yarn, (Any sort) throughout and 4mm needles. I tended to have 30 stitches or thereabouts-just as long as it measures 6 inches you're fine!
