Someone did say that they had the same problem but it was to do with the levelness of the ground I think???? anyway they put something under one side or a wheel or something (please forgive me, its late!) and the angle of the cube meant the water did not get in anymore and ran down the channels as it is supposed to

Hi, yes my cube leaks in the same area, its a green cube also maybe they had a bad batch,I have emailed omlet with pics showing all it from angles.

OH has also checked all fittings over the weekend and i've just checked and it has re-filled with water since I dried it yesterday.Luckily I dont have any chickens yet...just as well.

Waiting to hear back from omlet at the moment.

I picked up a reconditioned green cube (without run) from Omlet on Friday which OH has put together. It seems fine- fingers crossed!

Coincidentally, it has solved a problem I have had with my 3 Polands. They prefer to roost off the ground on the back of a bench. They always had to be enticed into the eglu and shut in the run before they would go to bed. It has been a pain especially when neighbours have had to put them to bed.

However, they love the cube - went to bed all by themselves tonight!! Wonderful!

I think I was just lucky. I phoned about 9.15 on a Monday morning (before I changed my mind!) and actually was very surprised to be told there was one! I don't live far away so arranged to pick it up. I could have had it a week earlier than I did, but the dates didn't work for me.

The explanation about it probably being a " show " cube explains why it looks so new.

The gaps in the roof are meant to be there, so don't necessarily blame then. The gap on one side is much bigger than the one on the other, and as Johannes himself (the designer) put my first cube together you can't argue with him.

My second cube used to leak in very heavy rain, and after being convinced for a long time it was coming through the roof, I found out in the end it was getting in around the egg-port door. I stuffed a strip of old towel around the groove to make a tight fit, and it has never leaked again.

But all cubes will be different.

Shame really that people have these problems and have to find solutions themselves.

Considering the price, you would really expect a faultless product and any problems whatsoever to be resolved by Omlet straight away.

I would be very peeved to have to stick a strip of old towel around the eggport groove to stop leaks. For the money-I would expect no leaks :?

Bit like saying that I bought an umberella for £40, it had a hole in it so I fixed it with a bit of old carrier bag!!!

I feel exactly the same, still waiting for a reply from omlet after sending pics of my leaking cube, its a lot of money and it should be perfect. We have had a plastic "little tikes house "in our garden since my daughter was 2... shes now 24 ..no leaks ! :?:

I received my first cube a week ago which leaked really badly :( after emailing and phoning omlet I cannot fault the customers service in particular hayley and lauren  . We have now set up the replacement cube which has much smaller gaps and am praying for rain!! to see if it leaks fingers crossed all will be snuggly and dry for the girls (Bluebelle)(white chicken)PPPPGNRGNR. Is it just the (cube green) that seem to have this problem?

I have a pre-loved eglu which has a dodgy eggport. I keep meaning to replace the door, but we only use it as a spare and it only happens in torrential rain. My year old eglu is absolutely fine in all weathers.

I think it's just the more complex design of the cube which sometimes causes problems- but as you say they can be solved. But I love the cube - and so do my chickens!

Mine was recon, but I was in no hurry, so rang almost every day for 3 weeks before I got a green one (I was offered pink or blue before this). They will not keep a list of who is interested it is just a case of phone calls and I also think early morning seems to be more productive as they go so fast.
