Cat
hi, 2 of our rabbits really like chewing our clothes while we hold them and one of them ate a plastic animal!!! does anyone know why they do this and how we can prevent it?
Louise
Rabbits will love to chew as their teeth are constantly growing and they need to wear them down so you need to give them things to chew in their pens You can buy plastic toys for them but they will chew them up so a piece of fruit wood is a good toy that they can gnaw on Cardboard boxes are a great game as well as being good, easy and cheap to destroy
The Dogmother
That's true Louise One of mine eats clothes, the other doesn't. They have pieces of wood in their cage to gnaw on (not cherry though), and lots of hard plastic toys that they can't eat. I also sometimes give them cardboard boxes to destroy
Louise
Yup like children the cardboard goes down best with bunnies
Cat
can they have plum wood?
The Dogmother
Not sure, there's a list I found once somewhere on the internet forsomeone else who asked me years back. I know that cherry is def out, apple is fine and they like it, but don't know about plum. Try doing a search.
Lera
Mine love the twigs generated when my neighbour prunes his large apple tree. They eat them up.
