Alison M
Due to all the fantastic advise KateB has received Re: sore throat - posted on Monday. I would be interested to hear if anyone can help me with one of my problems I suffer terribly with cracked heels and one is now quite sore. I would be interested for any home cure remedies (rather than going to see a chiropodist), from you knowledgeble people. Many thanks in anticipation. KateB
I rub Vit E oil into my heels once a week and so far, so good... I've got a friend who soaks her feel in warm olive oil, milk powder and honey too and she swears by it... Hope your feet feel better soon... Mrs Frugal
There's a fab Australian cream you can buy from Boots called Heel Balm I think. It works wonders as my heels crack too. Flexitol Heel Balm
Louise
You will probably find this hilarious but have you tried nappy rash cream I even had it 'prescribed' by a vet for a cat who had cracked skin on his paws (they were so bad he couldn't walk) and the vet said zinc and castor oil cream and they were sorted in about 4 days
Mrs Frugal
Yes, that's excellent Louise - we used it all the time when I was nursing for pressure sores. Great stuff.
Nicola H
Ive used the Heal balm Kate recommended at it worked wonders within a week.........................
motherhen
Whatever you choose to use, if you put it on thickly at night and then put socks on as well it gives it a chance to really soak in - I did this with cotton gloves when I had loads of plaster dust around and my fingers were cracking. It it a bit of a passion killer but cracked skin is so painful it will be worth it
Mrs Frugal
mmm, sure is but I know what you mean Jane. My hands are like that most of the time and I'm always going to bed smothered in Nutrogena and gloves!
The Dogmother
Another good one is Badger Balm, it is a bit thick at first and nees rubbing between your hands to warm it up, but it works wonders on my gardening hands and exczema. Got it on the internet, place called Boxtree Gallery (free postage), they make other sorts of balm too, but this is great. Clare T
Popcorn
yes, I agree with Jane. Whatever you use, do it often and wear socks at night after you have applied the cream. I don't think you can beat vaseline personally, but any intense moisterising cream will work.

Alison M
Sorry for being boring and going BOT (Back on Topic), but I would just like to say thank you to Kate for recommending Flexitol Heel Balm and Motherhen for the advise to wear socks. The combination of the two has worked wonders. Very many thanks.
