Danny's having school dinners for the first time today, he was very excited. i think Olly's a bit confused though, he just asked to go and get Dan from school. I made some fairy cakes with him this morning, they are yum! Went to our local Folk Festival on Saturday, was fab. Took part in an African drumming workshop, and the kids were so well behaved we stayed til about 9:30pm. Oliver did fall asleep on me though during the last band we saw. Debs - sorry to hear you are still up the creek a bit - you'll have to do some meditating. OOOOOHHHHHMMMMMMMM! Saw the docs and I'm fine - blood clear, no diabetes, average cholesterol, liver fine, and no thyroid problems. I have some poopy varicose veins in the making hence tingling leggies and unless I wear surgical stockings I will still get the tingling. Well we both turned our noses up at that at the same time, so we laughed and he said "or maybe not". So apart from losing weight over the next 3 years - that's his timescale, and he was happy that I have already started - and I walked there too, he was very pleased with me. There is a bit of a hill going up the road just before the house - usually known as "the killer" because it is so steep, and today I managed to get to the top of the worst bit and I wasn't even puffing (I thank Jlo for breaking me in the other week and the blooming hills in Somerset). The postie said hi and how was I today and I replied that I was much better now that I was at the top of that blasted hill. He said I know, it's a killer isn't it! So it's now official - everyone here calls it the "killer". Lewis no pooing in Debs cupboards - can any of us fit in there and get up to no good? PT sounds good fun. Actually I didnt' do bad - talked at yr 12 for their first lesson then gave them a trio of activities which would have to be finished as homework for the second lesson - they soon got that the more they did in class the less homework they would have - and given that they can't do it in their frees cos the 6th form IT suite isn't finished yet they knew it WOULD be homework That left me free to sort out the lesson for my year 10 group - which contained a number of "characters". Stamped all over them too It's Mums birthday today - she is not feeling well though so we aren't doing anything - saving a meal out for the weekend. Valkyrie Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 What are the injections for, JJ? We all had to have TB vaccines when I was your age. They don't seem to do it any more. We had to have a test to see whether we already had it and it looked like a small printing stamp, but instead of the rubber with a pattern underneath it was like lots of little pins and they plonked it on your forearm like a stapler (after first putting a drop of something on the arm first). The vaccine proper wasn't very nice, they kind of injected under the surface of the skin and then it was absorbed by your body - it left a big lumpy scar. It's flat now, but mine had a freckle slap bang in the middle of it - and I still have my freckle - there is a slight discolouration where the scar was though. DS has a cold - he's been having hot lemon and honey and suddenly has asked for healthy food such as chicken soup (home made of course). I remember a girl at another school a few miles away from us getting TB - Danny Blanchflower's daughter. She went to the same school as my brother, but that was years before he got there - she had probably married and had children by that time.
