mountainboarddude Posted September 10, 2009 Share Posted September 10, 2009 i had a voucher to use for waterstones and after seeing Tescopoly at River Cottage i decidied to buy it and have a read. I have only jut started the book but it is basically about the dominance that Tesco has in the retail and grocery market and how it is becoming a monopoly. it is an interesting and relevant book that is ideal for anyone aware of Tesco's domination or the control that the supermarkets have. just thought it might be an interesting book to read as i know that a lot of people on the forum are aware of thses issues. matt Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've not heard anything about their practises, but I guess as they are such a huge monopoly (4th largest employer in the world I believe) there are no doubt some dubious things going on to keep prices so low. mountainboarddude Posted September 11, 2009 Author Share Posted September 11, 2009 yeh i have now banned my parents from shopping in tesco and we didnt shop in asda anyway, so it is waitrose (as i work there ) and morrisons mainly and sometimes sainsburys although they are pretty bad at stocking things.
