sadietoo
It's a bit like the e-mails you get purporting to be from HMRC and telling you that you are due a refund....the first question you have to ask yourself is ...at what point did I give them my e-mail address?....if the answer to that is never (and that is the correct answer in the case of the Revenue folks...they don't do e-mail) then it's most definitely a scam
Egluntyne
Scam! Ignore it.
The Dogmother
Check on Snopes, but i'm sure it'll be a scam. They'd be wanting certain confidential ID to verify your claim....
Egluntyne
Email addresses are not the deciders in winning the lotto....picking the correct numbers are. Check the properties of the email if you can....I bet it originates outside the UK.
Geoid
The proper winning Lotto email has the header 'we have a nice surprise for you'. Its a scam! For more info see here

Thanks Fred for that link, I was surprised that it had arrived in my inbox, normally such toot lands in the junk tray along with the "you are a long lost relative" and "get rich quick in this casino" emails...It's now marked as junk so hopefully won't appear again Sha x
