Cooks
Well after weeks of keeping the new Orpies apart they are now 20/21 weeks ish and are brave and big *cough* enough to hold their own against the other girls, so have been freeranging with no problems for a while now with them. Last night was the first night that I put them in the cube with the older girls when they were all asleep they didn't object until I tried to hoik them out again this morning but I will do that for a week like I did last time and then finally they can wake up together like a proper chooky family and I can finally remove that segregation fencing  Getting up at 6am this morning was better than last time I intro'd when I had to get up a LOT earlier. Space Chick
Hope it goes well Cooks, it is hard to know if you are doing the right thing with intros. I left my inner double doors open for the first time on Friday night, and I was lying awake waiting for first light so I could go out and check they were still fine The ex batts are still choosing to sleep in the cat carrier though
Chook n Boo Mum
Good luck honey, it's so much easier being up at dawn when it's that bit later Sha x

quickcluck
Good luck! I am introducing my orps at the moment too..... they have a play time everyday, some are better than others. When the babies have had enough they go and hide in the bigs girls cube!!! They did all go to bed together for one night with no problems it was their choice, but not encouraging it at the moment as they are only 15-16weeks... Cooks
thanks everyone, I have to admit when the alarm went off this morning I did jump out of bed with more enthusiasm than I have in a long while..

Falkor
Glad it went well Lyns. I have TBH and say that I have delayed putting Rum and Raisin in with the other bantams just so I could avoid the really early morning hoik out! But if anyone asks I am just making sure they get REALLY used to eachother before putting them in together
Cooks
still early days but all is well at the moment at least.

Cooks
whilst out freeranging the orpie 'babies' turfed out the older girls from their 'hole' quite how I didn't see, but to see the orpies shuffling around in it melted my heart, and no I didn't think to grab the camera edited to add.. nice to see I am not doing it alone then.. It seems this day has taken ages to come, but thats what I get for buying them at 12 weeks... patience is a virtue my mother tells me.. I and I certainly had to have plenty of that lately. Hard to believe they were those small orpies I got at 12 weeks though.. great big fluff balls that they are now..

Cooks
of my girls all together??? I will take some ovet the weekend... but the night change over cannot be photographed as I am half asleep and likely to photograph something totally different. they will wake up all together tomorrow morning. They now have their own netted off area which I put up with Knowles netting, very good buy considering the netting cost me £14 inclusing postage... bargain! Cooks
Things seem to be going ok, I am sat here armed with coffee and laptop watching them peer out the cube door at the moment, I think they are a tad shell shocked.... awwwwwww a netted off garden and a new house the woke up in all in 24hrs... too much for orpies brains to deal with
Laura & CTB
Are they scratching their heads saying "I'm sure that wasn't there yesterday" ? Glad things are going well, I'm up for a couple of early mornings myself this weekend when I bung my lot in together tonight Still, it's lovely when they're all settled in isn't it? Cooks
yes I think they are. yes I agree, it's so rewarding to see them all settled and happy with each other.. I ahve done it once with the other girls but not 'quite' confident enough to say I ahve done it again.... yet.. Things looking good so far though. Cooks
the orpies took themselves to bed on their own in the cube today... flaming typical considering I just bought anh eglu for them to use.. ... but they are forgiven as that is really what I want them to do.. brave girls,... proud mummy... Ain't Nobody Here
That's good, Cookie . My big girls went to bed before the little girls tonight with no stalking or pecking . Another week to test out the roll away nestbox then I think it's communal sleeping all round .
