Ain't Nobody Here
I think Poppy has laid her first egg . Hard to compare colours as we've eaten both of Penny's but it's titchy (35g) compared to Penny's two so I think it must be hers . Perhaps now we can actually start using the egg skelter again . Funny how they laid 2 days apart - just like Maisie and Milly 2 years ago .
katieD
how fab! cant wait for my new ones to start laying- forgot how eggciting the wait is! think i might have to wait a while for the cochin and silkies though
Ain't Nobody Here
Have to admit , I'm a bit disappointed both new girls' eggs seem to be the same colour . Never mind, at least I'm actually getting some eggs now. Colour shouldn't matter!
KateG
ANH, you know what the answer to having the same colour eggs is, don't you? more chickens of course! Yay for Poppy
Ain't Nobody Here
I know . Sadly, I'm at capacity . Picked these new girls as I thought I might get a dark brown egg or a speckeldy one but I was wrong .

Ain't Nobody Here
Well, I take it all back . Poppy laid her first egg this afternoon . And a lovely dark brown colour it was too . The little egg I found this morning was Penny's but I thought it was Poppy's, then a huge one (75g) which I'd thought must have been Penny's but was Molly's - are you keeping up . Easy mistake as Penny's egg was even smaller than her first two . Anyway, I'm getting pale eggs from Penny and dark eggs from Poppy . ClaireG
Glad your getting your dark egg and can understand why you were confused!
chickencam
I have found it very hard to work out who is laying what in our newbies. I now think that the couple of eggs that we have had that have a white speckled surface with a pale brown under colour are laid by Ghost the Bluebelle. they look like sugar coated easter eggs We get the lovely dark brown eggs from our Isa Brown and they are the largest too. Am very I don't think my new ladies will go into the egg business till next year although I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. They are about 22 wks now, maybe , just one or two would be nice
jan246
3 weeks after their arrival all 3 of our girls are now laying eggs! Hoping we`ll be able to tell the difference once they all get up to size, all a bit "brown" at the minute tho. Altho Ophelia`s eggs have some quite big dark speckles on them and Mercedes` look like they might be the lightest- time (and more eggs) will tell. Its so exciting that I can now officially cancel my egg delivery from the milkman- Yippee!! Jan
