I hadn't read the twilight books and hadn't heard of them until the last one came out and read them all within two weeks too lol i will read anything but can't say i really enjoyed them that much too soppy for me and couldn't believe how dense she was lol

 

But having discovered trueblood when someone on here mentioned it i love that , much more gritty and grown up :D also much prefer Bill to Edward (hes too wet for me). Thought i would wan't to see New Moon but now i'm into trueblood, don't know if i'll bother.

 

 

Pretty much the same here... except for the last one. I got to the bit where the Thing Which Must Not Be Mentioned happened, and had to fling it aside. I only read it when bribed into it by my sister. Those books are Soma, I swear.

 

i did read the last one but found myself shouting at her again lol

Ah, Blue Moon. The sequel to Twig Light. The one before Ellipse. And Breaking Yawn. :lol:

 

Or do you mean New Moon, the sequel to Twilight? You've got to get down with the kids Claret, or the kids will get down with you. And they have really big TEETH now! Have you not read the books?! :D

 

EmmaJC - the thing that can't be mentioned - do you mean the thing you'd be locked up for if you were a human rather than a werewolf on account of it being in unspeakably evil and bad taste, regarding of whether or not you act upon it until the thing with the really really punchably stupid hybrid name gets to be a legal age? :o:shock:

 

THAT bizarro-what-the-heck thing (I wonder what on earth goes on in Stephanie Meyer's local town to even give her such ideas), or something else?

Oh to be honest I found the whole thing pathetic. STOP READING TO AVOID SPOILERS...

 

That very first chapter, where Bella is moaning about her new car, and shiny credit card, it's so ungrateful, I cannot imagine what went through the author's mind when she wrote that. The wedding was rushed and classless, the honeymoon was essentially a night of BDSM and then the THING-WHICH-CANNOT-BE-MENTIONED happened, even though in the last book Rosalie said specifically it can't happen, and any rational person would realise dead things cannot breed!

 

Then, the labour scene was sickening. I cannot understand what sort of a person would be to squeamish to write a sex scene and yet was warped enough to write about a baby chewing it's way out, plus, as you mentioned, the bit where you'd end up inside for was gross indeed.

 

All that said, I'm thrilled to bits that people are enjoying something as much as they do this. My sister, at 38 adores the books, I adore debating them with her and it's brought her and her step daughter much closer, they're all going to see New Moon next week together which is so lovely to see, and that's all that matters really. (Except don't tell my feminist friends I said that. They'd have my guts for garters)

Getting back to True Blood, thanks to Palmer07 for the book people link, i've sent it to OH in the hope that he'll get me them for xmas. I wouldn't normally read that type of book but i love the Tv series so for that price they are worth a punt.

 

As for Twilight, i haven't watched or read any of them, not my bag baby :wink::lol:

Give it a go. I got the DVD for £6 at Sainsburys the other day and I thought it was good. Lighter but still good. Even if you don't like it you can stick it on e bay.

 

I've ordered True Blood from the Book People cheers for that link. Now I can't decide whether I can wait till Christmas for the True Blood DVD box set series 1 and 2, or shall I just order it . Mmmm Can't decide :?

Order it, watch both series, infact get next day delivery and don't leave the house all weekend :lol: Then start on the books. I think it's helped that I saw the show first. There are very very subtle lines, words or even just looks that are easy to miss but actually are mega huge hints as to what goes on later on. I enjoyed watching and finding those. There was a line in episode 9 that made me prick my ears and planted a massive seed and it was so satisfying to read the books and know I was right in the way I'd heard it. The casting of Alexander Skarsgard as Eric was a stroke of pure genius, he's just sooooooooooo Eric. Never before have I seen a character in a book cast so well on screen, well perhaps not since Colin Firth as Mr Darcy.

The True Blood books seem to have fallen into my shopping basket too as you say Helly Wellu for that price!!! .....and had the email to confirm they will be delivered tomorrow :dance:

 

I also picked up the fourth Twilight book in Tesco's last night.......but what to read first! :think:

I love the sex and violence of the true blood series, but yet I also love the innocence of the twighlight series :D ,

 

I have just bought the 1st true blood book from audible, as it seems to be read by a realy addictive southern accent.

 

Wish me luck, nine hours of southern vampire bliss :lol::lol::lol::lol: .

Oh the Sookie Stackhouse bookset from the Book People fell into my online shopping basket too...... :whistle:

 

Am hooked to Series 1 of True Blood on terrestrial TV and really :mrgreen: envious of those who have seen both series 1 and 2 already..... it is definately adult stuff though.

 

I loved Twilight book and movie. My 13 and 11 year old daughters loved the books and movie too. Personally the second book (new moon) was the worst read for me and it will be interesting to see if they make any changes to it in the movie.

 

I'm off to see "New Moon" at the cinema tomorrow with 5 girls in tow (2 of mine and 3 more for a sleepover). So I hope it's good......

I have the true blood ones ready for xmas and have just finished the first twilight book aftet starting it at about 9.30 last night... what is with these books, they hypnotise you into not putting them down. :shock:

 

You're right. They are almost as bad as chickens for addictivenes :wink:
