I havent gone through a winter yet but we have some clear tarpaulins to cover the sides when the weathers bad so the bedding hasnt got wet ..... yet!

That seems a good idea but you can't be there every time it decides to chuck it down, middle of the day when your at work or in the middle of the night.

In my cube runs I watch the direction of the wind and put the covers down on that side to keep it dry. A bit of stalason dries up any damp areas and prevents nasties but I did find some damp rising through the slabs but the hemcore soaked it up. :D

It's fine if you can keep it dry. We have "winterised" our WIR now. We had some spare clear corrugated panels hanging around and OH has nailed them down the side of the run which was particularly prone to letting in wet. The other side of our WIR has large tarpaulin over it which I pull over on days that I know are going to be wet (and pull back on dry days/spells). I always cover the whole run by night.

Despite it pouring down here all afternoon, the aubiose is dry and toasty. :D
