yup. works a treat, you cant taste onion, just honey honey has antiseptic properties and onion has loadsa vitamin C or something in it (my mothers a nut, she likes crazy concotions rather than shop bought stuff!)

Speaking for myself - yes I am quite fussy actually!!

 

Hope eggregiousness has a better night and that all those feeling pants are feeling better soon.

 

I find that paracetomol and codeine tablets help when I have a bad cough.

Glad your sleeping a bit better Eggre.... But keep taking it easy or it could sneak back on you. My DD has been off school a week now, with no voice at all for 2 days (heaven for us! ) but really, she has been proper poorly so dont you go rushing back to work before your properly better.

As for the money, we've all lived on beans on toast for week when needed!

try some Jakemans cough lozenges, they really do work for tickly coughs, they're fab! Hope you feel better soon xxx

my mum used to swear by (bear with me on this!)

 

half an onion on a plate witha tablespoon of honey on the top of it, leave it over night and drink the liquid that comes off ti the next day- its not as vile as you think and really does help a cough/sore throat,

You have my complete sympathy as I am sitting here too with the 'lurgy' but also just got back from docs with antibiotics so hoping to see to some improvement over the next days.

Went back to work - did 2 night shifts and then had to call in sick again. Doc changed my antibiotic and gave me a Salbutamol inhaler to help the gunk shift (technical term that). Slept much better last night. Have learnt my lesson and am having a few days off. I hope everyone else is feeling better. There are so many people round here with bad chests it's unreal! Don't know whether they all have secondary infections after the flu or what it is...
