Gem_Seb
I have 2 new black pekin bantams! they are sooooo cute! I will post some pics later. They seem to be getting on fine with the rest as well, they spent a few days apart then I put them in my WIR and kept an eye on them yesterday, i was only going to do it for a few hours but apart from the odd chase, which happens between the others anyway they were fine! so left them out there from 11 until 5 last night! no incidents so far!! I didnt let them sleep togehter though! this morning I put them inthe WIR before I left for work and my friend is popping round every now and then to check on them, all fine so far! is it too early to be thinking the intros are ok!! and should i try sleeping them together or carry on like this until the end of the week!? Thanks!

Pikey
Hi Gem....nice to see another Brizzle chicken owner on here!!! Lucky you with the intros.....I'm trying to introduce Cole my bantam cockerel with the big girls but two weeks on and they are still trying to attack him through the wire of his cage. Where did you get your new girls from......nice to see some photos too.
Gem_Seb
Hello! i was beginning to think i was the only person on here from Bristol!! I got my chickens from Nibley Bird Farm in Yate but also go to Annies Poultry Farm in Siston, its really nice there, theres basically a MASSIVE field! which you just go and walk around in a choose your chickens! Nibley is nice as well and they have a good range of birds there, alsosell really nice chicken houses, very well made and the man is always around to give advice! Where do you go? I think i have been very lucky with my intros! im trying not to get too relaxed about it as i currently have one broody so shes not around so much then the bully (dave, a girl!) who does the odd chase and my little silkie Precilla who loves them! im hoping that they will be fine! i have put them in to sleep together night as by the time i got home from work they had all gone to bed together anyway and will just set my alarm to get up just before it gets light so they are not shut in the house together too long!! I will have to get some pictures tomorrow now as it was dark and they were all snuggled up so nicley together when i got home i didnt want to disturb the peace! Gem_Seb
Thanks! i guess i was just getting a bit worried it was all too much too soon and they would all 'relapse' so to speak! i guess im just very lucky!!! Good things dont normally happen to me! i have put off getting new additions as i was dreading the intros! Dave can be such a bully, i thought she would just go mental!! I guess she was bored of her other coop mates and knew it was time for a change!!
Pikey
Got 2 of my ladies from omlet, other 2 are ex bats from hen-rehomers and Cole was a private sale. I go to Annie's too...I end up spending ages (and a fortune) when I go there for supplies. I love her set up and wish I had as much land as her. Shes really nice and helpful as well. Looking forward to the photos

Gem_Seb
Yes i have been very lucky!! after 2 days they just got on like they had known each other for ages! weird really considering how much of a bully one of them is!! ive had one broody this week as well and the others seem to have stopped laying so i shut them all out the house today as they have a covered area to go to from the rain and this seems tohavedone the trick! shes back on the roosting bars with the other ones tonight!! I will get some pics up over the weekend as its too dark when I get home from work and the roof should be on the WIR as well by then!
