Gelbel
Well one of mine is so pleased not to have seen me since Sunday she's started to lay again. I've been working out and about this week and to see them on a nippy, sunny morning was lovely. Even if the little madams did a mad rush at me, caught me off my guard, got right out of the run and are FR as we speak (they don't normally FR til 3pmish). BocBoc
I miss our girlies too - At the moment I see them for about an hour in the morning, four days a week so the weekends are the only real time we gte to spend any time with them. Having said that, we are up in Scotland for a wedding this weekend so we'll not see them again til Monday morning Roll on Spring
cluckingmad
I miss mine too, as does OH bless him - happy today as I'm off work so the girls are having a play in the garden, but I'm snuffling with a cold and its too chilly to sit out with them Might have to go wrap up warm with a mug of tea... in fact, I'm off to do that right now...! Carolyn xx ps my office has pics of all my animals including my girls dotted around, none of hubby-to-be tho', poor lad says forget about the new chooks, HE knows his place in our family pecking order very well thank you
Gelbel
ps my office has pics of all my animals including my girls dotted around, none of hubby-to-be tho', poor lad says forget about the new chooks, HE knows his place in our family pecking order very well thank you We've had network problems at work today and I thought I might have to pop into an office to do some intranet stuff. I told the team that if I disappeared it's coz I was off in to town to get on the LAN and I said that the site would have to accept me looking like a scarecrow. Cheeky project manager asked did that mean I would be walking around with one of the girls under my arm.

docsquid
Gosh, reading this makes me feel really lucky to be semi-retired, and work from home. I get to see the girls every day, and they get FR nearly every day. I can't imagine not being able to see the little lovelies except at weekends. chickenopolis
Our girls get about an hour FR in the morning and then we have to go to work. We play "let's dig up the wormies" from the various parts of the garden that are just mud. I have to say they are spectacularly better at it than me, there I am with a small shovel.... Neighbours must think I have lost it. In full office work clothes digging up worms with 2 chickens at half seven in the morning - perfectly natural I think??? I sometimes come home at lunchtime to let them out for about half an hour - they are happy to go back into the run, it's me that doesn't want to go back to work. I get home from work about half five, and with the keys still swinging in the front door I run up the end of the garden with a torch and shut the girls in for the night. I HAVE to apologise for not letting them out much during the day but say "nighty night ladies" and if I am lucky give them a tickle under their "wingpit" which is boiling hot usually.... I love the different seasons but I NEED it to be spring now - I need to see the girls everyday otherwise I will go mad. I hope it's not just me!! JB09
No it is not just you! I have not seen my girls since properly all week due to work, but I still come home everynight and talk to them through the egg port and apologise to them for not being let out of their run. Thinking about really going to town, adding loads to thier run to make their days a bit more exciting! JB
greenfreek
Im the same. I get up in the morning, go out to the garden to let them out, feed them, fill the water etc so I'm out with them for about 5 mins. Then I get ready and go to work and by the time i get home they're in bed. Ive got 2 weeks off soon tho so hopefully will be able to spend lots of time with them and spoil them a bit. Ive bought them one of those metal treat balls with a bell on it that you get for rabbits an things at the mo, so thats something new to keep them slightly more occupied and i've got them lots of new logs too. I miss my ladies!!
