Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 11

Recommended Posts

Afternoon, wish I was having a new carpet. Hate the carpet on the stairs and in our bedroom, and the boys bedrooms desperately need new carpet. Ah well I guess we'll get around to it one day. New Years Resolution is to decorate the boys rooms - we've only been here 3 and a half years.

Went to Dan's Christmas play this morning. It was a carol/christmas song concert with the nursery morning class. Dan had a line, and he said it lovely and clearly (couldn't find a proud mum smiley to put here). There was no video being done this year though, and we weren't allowed to do our own or take photos :(

I agree PT - ours are horrible. I think I may have to get some fellers in to decorate first - and a plasterer before that and an electrician (you don't want to see the state of the downlighters in Ciaran's room  ). But the most popular carpet at the moment seems to be brown, brown, cream, brown, light brown, beige, fawn, brown. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz oh, and stripey brown. Bleh, I want green and not loop pile or twist -it's got to be velvet (so I can squish my toes in it)! But the greens at the moment are really pants and don't match my curtains - I'M NOT HAVING ANY SHADE OF BROWN!!!!!! :boohoo:

Back from school - we're still having problems with the sound

The new speakers were installed but now we need a new power amp which is another few £100.

I can tell you because I don't know you all in 'real life' :shh: My brother has always had problems with his ears, perforated ear drum etc, had gromits and has recently gone deaf in one ear. Went to the hospital today for tests + they think he has a tumor ... he doesn't want to know anything about it because he'll worry, just knows he has to have an operation. Few more tests and a scan and they're trying to get it all done before christmas :?

Hello everyone :D

Been very bust recently so sorry for not stopping in

Debs - Henry is adorable. :D

And Quigley!!!! Lewis! Quigley......so cute.

Did a bio isa practical today...it involved energy drinks so I think I'm a little er..'buzzed' still.

Mum's birthday today...so I wrapped all the presents last night and I'm just finishing off her card and we'll get everything out when Chichi is home.

Christmas decorations up this weekend :)

Happy Carpet Day cloots

We have brown carpets on our stairs

But I think it is a nice brown...not an odd brown...if you know what I mean.

I hope your brother is alright Lewis. x

Any suggestions?

Brown carpet! It's any variation of brown - garghhhh! Colour colour colour!

Loop piles are hard wearing as are twists. 100% wool is the best, but with twists go for 80% wool and 20% man made fibre (MMF). Twists tend to have flecks of different shades in them - hide a multitude of sins. The previous owners had a dusky pinkyish twist here - it's still reasonably OK (could do with a darn good clean but I want it to go because I loathe it  ) and apart from where we ripped up the carpet on the landing, the stairs are reasonably OK apart from paint splashes etc. Put it this way, the carpet is not threadbare at all (in spite of the heavy traffic - us) after 26 years! I think they got it from John Lewis.

Again, personal preference - the Interior Designers luuuurve the loop pile (hence so does Murray!) but I don't. My neighbour has some of our loop pile and she loves it too - but I still don't even after seeing it down - yes it looks nice and her fitter did a terrific job of doing awkward stairs (they curve round), but . . . it's cream! Then her dad took the doors off the hinges and oiled them and the carpet! She wasn't very happy with him!

Oh Lewis, just read your posting in between. I do hope your brother is OK - perhaps it's scar tissue. Murray's nieces have had hearing problems too - and the gromits. My nan had a perforated ear drum from swimming (she won medals too).

Group hugs for all your family (and you Lewis and especially your brother)

He's 15 so knows whats going on and whats happening, he just doesn't want to know about the tumor.

They think its benign (which is good), but the scan will see how big it is :)

My grandad is nearly deaf, so has to have hearing aids which I think worried him a bit, but it should be ok after the op.

Off for a driving lesson :D - all the elctricity has gone up the road, including the traffic lights, so could be interseting

I think the water got into the power lines yesterday - the electricity kept going on the blink, everyone was saying "did the lights go or was it my eyes" by the third time it was old hat - at least we don't normally get Jlo's complete power cuts when the weather's bad.

Ooh! How 8) Debs.

I've been in the Times too  (well the Funday Times  ) and won a gameboy.

Driving was good, we went the other way to avoid the lights so had to do a big hill start - was good.

I'm sure I'll let you know how he is :)

my mums just been attacked by some carol singer :(

they are about 14-15 years old and we did'nt have any spare change so they stole our milk which got delivered earlier and i chased down the road followed my mum and said give us our milk back(how sad does that sound!) and he gave it backto us and then got his bike and try to break the window of a car and dented the door :( and then said to my mum

'come and get me you s**g come and chase me so my mum though some milk over him and he gobbed and spat in mum mums hair and face  .then this huge boy came over and came right to my mum and said don't you hurt my brother and said i know where you live and i will get you :shock::( me and dad then drove down the road and found them smoking drugs and said we were carol singing and none of us were doing anything  mum then called the police and when we took joey for a walk we found the down the road.i'm now  really scared :(
