Today at work I was eyeing up a skip full of paving slabs

when a lady I occasionally say good morning to in passing

remarked on the skip too. I said I was interested in some of the

unbroken slabs for my WIR OH is planning for my chickens she

said without batting an eyelid "you keep chickens? now why

does that not surprise me" For once I was speechless

I know exactly how you feel - I get that all the time

 

You feel like asking.. 'and what exactly do you mean by that?' but you just smile to yourself and feel glad to look like you keep chickens.

I'd take that as a compliment! Us chicken-keepers are a special breed.

 

I had to go back to the place where I bought my woodburning stove recently, now it's a year since I had it fitted and I didn't expect the man to remember me without prompting, but I mentioned the address and then he said 'Oh, you're the one with the chickens!'

People always sound surprised when they hear i have chickens as well!! i think people forget you dont have to own a farm to keep them!!

 

Our accountant in work heard i had some and asked me why i have them and if i was brought up on a farm or something!
