Lewis
Me again Anyone stuck for a christmas present? Having a nosey around Alisons website and saw this on the homepage: Course in the Cotswolds We are running another Kill, Pluck, Gut and Bone Course at Cotswolds Chickens, Hawthorn Stud, South Newington, Banbury Oxfordshire OX15 4JP on 21 February 2010. There will be sessions starting 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm and each session lasts about 2 hours. The cost is £57 and £87 if a couple shares a place. Email alison@chickenkeeper.co.uk to book a place and remember to bring a pinny. The last course was full, so book early. Make sure you choose the correct time as it will not be possible to swap sessions on the day.The sausage machine with Gloucester Old Spot meat will be there as well. A few of us went on the last course and had a really good day, and I know others couldn't get there but said they'd like to know about next ones You get to have a go at killing a meat bird, pluck it - thats put away to 'finish' at home, then you're given a 'blue peter' chicken to gut and bone. All the info about the course is here but the prices to do it at Alison's are more expensive. Cotswold Chickens also sell chickens and are Omlet stockists so you can see the , and Go (or even order one to collect on the day or 'pretty' chickens like people did last time )

Space Chick
Claret/Tom - what time slot are you going on? Phil and I are seriously thinking about going. We have been talking about hatching for a while, and have been having the moral what to do with Cockerel talk, and we are thinking meat birds. It would be lovely to be supported by some friendly faces Lewis - Are you helping out?
