Darn it, you noticed! Doesn't stop me wanting to rush out and ski whenever there is a light coating of snow on the ground.

We stay at Santon Bridge quite often and walk over Muncaster fell which has great views of the island. I have a friend in Port St. Mary though I have never been over to see her

Come for a visit! If you don't need a car as you have friends here then a trip on the ferry from Liverpool or Heysham isn't too expensive.

 

We have loads of great walks here and lots of wildlife too. No stoats, weasels, badgers, squirrels or foxes though But several people have wallabies invading their gardens and there are loads of chicken colonies roaming the island.

 

I've never been to the Lakes *Hangs head in shame*

We're predicted a frost tonight; it's just 1deg and the gritters have been out. We are on a side, side street, so never get gritted the road just up from Banbury Cross (where my office is) looks like the gritter lorry dumped most of its load right there!

We've got a frost here but the water hadn't started to freeze in the drinker but I've took it in to the garage just in case

Gritters are out in Sheffield. First sighting of the season.

ended up with a real heavey frost this morning so glad I fetched the drinker in

there's an inch of thick ice in a pot saucer I've got out side that was clear last night at 10 pm

the coop roof is covered in frost but none on the inside no condensation as well so the insulation is working

We went out last night to help ourselves to a bag or two of council salt/grit and just as well as it's really icy out there. The drain in the road at the bottom of our drive is blocked (AGAIN) and it's like a skating rink out there.

If the drain is in the road OSH, then call the local highways dept and tell them that it will cause injury unless they get it jetted out - usually works.

 

I live on a hill, and unless the jet the gutter drains yearly, they block up and the houses at the bottom get water coursing through their ground floor Amazing how the word 'compensation' got them going

Already done.

The trouble is that the tractors churn the verges up and all the muck ends up in the drain.

We've put some boulders along our perimeter but we can't do the whole lane
