Tiggy
no!!!! the real Tiggy is a 21 year old tabby cat, I got home last night to find her on the back of my sofa with lots of dried blood all over the place, at first I thought she may have murdered some rodent, but on closer inspection I found that she had ripped out one of her claws from a back foot she let me look at it bless her but it must be terribly painful, She has been cleaning it & it has stopped bleeding. but I've had to go to work today, I'm afraid my boss wont stand for me having time off to take the cat to the vet

bluekarin
Oh no! Poor Tiggy (cat)! Has she been in a fight? Or possible tried to hold on whilst falling off a fence? I do wonder what cats get up to when they are out about about at night. I hope she gets better soon.
Gem_Seb
Bath it in luke warm salt water then if she has done it outside or managed to get a bit of dirt in it, at least you are trying to stop the infection! my friends cat fell down the stairs and ripped out 5 of her claws and they just had to keep bathing it and she had some painkillers i think but she did rip out 5 claws! Olly
Ouch! Poor Tiggy, healing purrs from Claudette and Wellington. Welly is always in the wars, I frequently find unexplained bloodstains on the duvet but closer examination never reveals anything leaking. Hope she soon recovers, they are usually very resilient and if she's washing it that's a good sign.

Its not really noticeable till u fiddle with his ear and feel a little lump there. doesnt bother him.

Tiggy
she seems OK today, its not bothering her too much, jumped very gingerly up onto the compost bin this morning but otherwise seems fine. Her foot is not bleeding & does not fee hot at all so hopefully she will be OK,

Tiggy
took her to the vet today, although her foot was not bleeding & she didn't seem too bothered by it the smell nearly knocked me over last night, the claw was still in the sheath & attached to the retractor muscle but had been ripped away from its blood supply so was rotting, when the vet took a closer look the smell was terrible & Tiggy was not amused but because she is such a good natured old girl apart from a bit of growling she lay still & let the vet clean everything up & remove the dettached claw. It must have been so painfull. She now has a very posh purple dressing the full length of her leg - like the one children have when they have a greenstick fracture. She had some long acting antibiotics & pain killing injections & has to go back on thursday to have it re dressed. the vet cannot believe she is 21 and so healthy, healthy enough to evict a much younger male intruder from her home

fluffyfeet
Oh bless her - glad she's okay. I'd heard that you'd got a furry interloper - so I presume Tiggy has put paid to his invasion then. Dawn x
Tiggy
she went back to the vet today OH had to leave her there on his way to work & i had to get her at lunch time & get back to work again - no lunch today then - the vet says her foot is much better, she has stopped being sick & her temp is normal, OH will take her back on Saturday when Im working. the interloper is very cheeky and got himself locked in to our house last night!!! I locked the cat flap to keep visitors out & he was already tucked away . Tiggy has found a new quiet spot under DDs bed and seems to be happy enough under there. I will have to try again to catch that tomcat, he is begining to look very scruggy again with the babd weather, he has been living in our garden for several years & does not seem to have a proper home, he is totally ferrall. Any ideas what to do about him?
