The Good Life - part3

Recommended Posts

All will be revealed later

Last night, we had to rescue the big, friendly tomcat, Tom, from the roof of the freezer room

My son had left a ladder up as he was repairing the roof. When he went out after lunch, the cat had climbed the ladder and was on the roof. He resisted all attempts to get him down so we left him to see if he could manage by himself.

He couldn't and as he has a manky front leg where he was (we think) run over as a kitten, he would find it difficult to jump off. Son went back up the ladder, in the dark, and enticed him to the edge. He grabbed him be the scruff of the neck and backed down the ladder as fast as he could. Of course, the cat was scared and all his claws came out - luckily, son had his thick coat on and the hood up!

Tom was fine once all 4 paws were on the ground. i don't think he'll be climbing ladders again in a hurry

No - none of them are ratters unfortunately :(

Because three of them were pregnant when we arrived, we had to start feeding them and they've become used to being fed :? . They catch the odd shrew ( :( ) or mouse.

Our rats are very close to being IN the house - I can't cope with that! We have resorted to traps and poison. They don't go near the traps but we haven't got time to wait until they do. They are in the eaves which open off the two upstairs bedrooms. Rats the other side of a little door in the rooms where my grandchildren sleep when they stay is not a nice thought :?
