Guest
The trees are so lovely I wish that had happened to our cherry tree, at least the birds wouldn't have been able to eat them all
Egluntyne
I wonder how many hours of her life Emily Fox has wasted practising in order to achieve such a pointless world record. Sorry...that sounds a bit stark...but if that's what she does in her spare time then it's a shame for her. The frozen cherry trees are unexpectedly beautiful, and the blue dot thought provoking and humbling.

Martin B
Lovely pictures of the cherry trees. The cup thing was pretty amazing!
Looney
The frozen cherry tree is fantastic, bit of a twist on your traditional ice-poles (of which cola is my favourite flavour)! That cup video is sort of amazing but in a pointless sort of way (so I agree with Egluntine and Claret!) although you can imagine her getting sacked from a part time job at McDonalds for spending too much time playing with the cups....... I love the fact that she is wearing sports gear for the occasion
Egluntyne
Not really something you can put on your CV is it? Or use as a chat-up line Its right up there with Morris Dancing as something not to put on your CV!

Sorry...that sounds a bit stark...but if that's what she does in her spare time then it's a shame for her. Roughly what I thought, except I thought that her parents should advise her to get a life I didn't see it like that at all! Once you start on that route, it makes most of life seem pointless! The only "records" that I really dislike are the overeating ones, yuk. What has particularly upset you about Freaky Cup Stackers! I quite admire the dexterity and don't see it as any worse than a young girl practising a magic trick to impress their friends. If that is your hobby, why not practise to become the best at it, and she seems so smiling & happy. I don't see it as any worse than playing any sort of game...jigsaws, dominoes, football, crosswords, darts, playing the spoons, chatting on a forum ...looking at u tube via a forum all seem pretty pointless Any hobby or activity beyond obtaining the essentials to maintain life is frivolous, I don't see freaky cups as being aparticularly outrageous timewaster Or is it me? ...and as for Morris Dancing...how much more purposeful could you be in life than that! Linda
I don't necessarily understand some people's interests or share them, but I do admire people who have a real passion for their subject.

I don't mind morris dancing though - one of our directors used to be a morris man, and I got used to it after a while.

The Dogmother
'support group' Perhaps we should be wearing support tights! Phil likes a good rant too - he's like Victor Meldrew when he gets going We have a division of labour when ever we're driving somewhere - one of us drives while the other rants about other people's appalling driving It works well, and the driver can concentrate on driving instead of ranting at the same time.
