chelsea
mine arent happy either just battled the winds out in the garden to shut them back in the run. I dont feel that they are safe out in the garden in this awful weather.
Lesley
We've just braved the elements again to secure the feeders - the lid to one was making a bid for freedom The hens aren't happy at all The cover for the electric fence battery also made a bid for freedom - my son found it just before it flew over the neighbouring hedge. susan l
my girls are run-bound for the time being since the entire fence has blown down on the right hand side of the garden. hope the fencing man can fit us in next week, have a feeling he's going to be very busy. they are v unhappy chickies, the eglu has moved about a foot, have weighed it down with some bricks. hope it passes soon, but yes, I think it will get worse before it gets better. buffie
It's awful, have told my mum and dad to stay in and not walk dogs when they come over later BBx
myles
It's just starting here, I hoped that we were going to miss it. Really gusty at the moment, better check the chooks. Anne
The Dogmother
It's definitely worse here now very gusty and buffeting the building. My house is oldish - 1897 and it felt like the wind was shaking it last night. This office is 20 years older, but much bigger and more sturdy. bronze
Just ordered some pegs for my run!! We've got bets on what blows down first here. My moneys on the carport. The wind here seems to come straight from the north pole
The Dogmother
It's a warm south wind here, not cold at all, just blumming windy.

myles
Just been out to check round it's a cold wind here too, it was really warm this morning but now freezing. The noise outside is something else it's so loud, the poor chooks are really spooked. It really is unbelievable it's wild, all the phones are going crazy the lines must be going to come down and the powers coming and going. Anne. hillfamily
Just been able to let my girls out for a quick run round the garden before the school run. Was supposed to move the compost bins today (to make room for our 2nd eglu when it arrives next week ) but it's far too windy to empty the bins, move them and then refill them. Hoping for better weather tomorrow
The Dogmother
It's supposed to be 'calmer' tomorrow, but colder and getting steadily colder into next week.
Paola
My poor chooks have spent the day in the eglu I am putting off going out today
chelsea
im gonna be up and letting them out the run bright and early tomorrow - apparently the morning is supposed to be nice. To make up for the amount of time they've been shut in today they hate being in the run
buffie
Ben working in my room outside and it was shaking, I didn't want to look worried in case my clients noticed but it was a little bit of a concern. I opened the gate to let a client in and got pushed forward by the wind and promptly shut the gate again. What power BBx
The Dogmother
The lights keep flickering here I spoke to the chap in our Sheffield office this afternoon, and it's really bad up there - half of his MIL's roof has been blown off
buffie
Big branch of tree down by our house and fence gone over the road Do not like it, how long is it meant to last BBx
The Dogmother
It's supposed to calm down tonight Buffie and be calmer tomorrow, but colder.
Mel (& Paul)
Its beautifully sunny down here (mind you it POURED earlier on and blew a gale ) But isnt it WONDERFUL to listen to the wind whistling round the house at night, whe you are all snuggle buggled warm and the chooks are all cozy in their beds (I hope the weather does get better soon - off to Leeds in a couple of weeks for business and dont really fancy all that driving in the snow and gales!) The Dogmother
I must say that I quite like hearing it at night too, although I do worry about slates blowing off the roof
bellekatz
Its been very windy here too - my neighbour has lost half her greenhouse - We just lost the alarm box of the back of hte house - lots of twigs form the huge tree in the bottom of the garden. The park that backs on to the school where I work is closed as they have had quite a few trees down this afternoon. Kids will have to walkthe long way home tonight.
