HOW WINDY

Recommended Posts

We've just braved the elements again to secure the feeders - the lid to one was making a bid for freedom  The hens aren't happy at all :(

The cover for the electric fence battery also made a bid for freedom - my son found it just before it flew over the neighbouring hedge.

my girls are run-bound for the time being since the entire fence has blown down on the right hand side of the garden. hope the fencing man can fit us in next week, have a feeling he's going to be very busy. they are v unhappy chickies, the eglu has moved about a foot, have weighed it down with some bricks. hope it passes soon, but yes, I think it will get worse before it gets better. :(

Just been out to check round it's a cold wind here too, it was really warm this morning but now freezing. The noise outside is something else it's so loud, the poor chooks are really spooked. It really is unbelievable it's wild, all the phones are going crazy the lines must be going to come down and the powers coming and going.

Just been able to let my girls out for a quick run round the garden before the school run.

Was supposed to move the compost bins today (to make room for our 2nd eglu (purple eglu) when it arrives next week :dance: ) but it's far too windy to empty the bins, move them and then refill them. Hoping for better weather tomorrow

Ben working in my room outside and it was shaking, I didn't want to look worried in case my clients noticed but it was a little bit of a concern. I opened the gate to let a client in and got pushed forward by the wind and promptly shut the gate again. What power

Its beautifully sunny down here :D

(mind you it POURED earlier on and blew a gale  )

But isnt it WONDERFUL to listen to the wind whistling round the house at night, whe you are all snuggle buggled warm and the chooks are all cozy in their beds :D

(I hope the weather does get better soon - off to Leeds in a couple of weeks for business and dont really fancy all that driving in the snow and gales!)

Its been very windy here too - my neighbour has lost half her greenhouse - We just lost the alarm box of the back of hte house - lots of twigs form the huge tree in the bottom of the garden. The park that backs on to the school where I work is closed as they have had quite a few trees down this afternoon. Kids will have to walkthe long way home tonight.
