I can't really put a time on when we change ours - I would say more according to weather really. In that awful wet we had in November I would say every 3 weeks but now in this nice cold snap it wont be changed for a while (4-6 weeks) as it's staying nice and dry and not ponging like it does when it's wet!

I find it helps to poo pick when you can (I have an obsession to do it daily) which keeps the poos and the pong down.

If I have run out of aubiose sometimes we will remove the front half of the WIR (where it gets most "traffic" and where it gets wet in extreme showers) scatter down some Stalosan F, and then move the aubiose from the back of the run to the front, and put fresh at the back!

When we do the big clear out - it all goes out, Stalosan put down and then fresh aubiose all over.

I used to put a good layer of Aubiose down and change it every 6 weeks or so. Now I put a much lighter layer down and change it weekly. Much less back breaking, takes 10 mins instead of 2 hours and the hens love having the clean stuff to rootle about in more regularly.

I pick up the obvious poos every day too.

I wouldn't use anything else. We have tried other stuff but nothing compares! :)

You could do as Egluntyne suggests and layer it thinner, or protect your run from the elements well it will last longer and change every 4-6 weeks (it's the rain that makes it all mushy).

Your nose will soon tell you when it needs changing.
