Lewis reeeeeally wants to hatch something next year, if the dinner chickens don't happen, might see if anyone locally need any hatching just so I can hatch them and they still get the chicks

You can always have my Inccy at your house for a hatch Lewis, it won't make any difference to me if its rocking away at your house rather than mine

One of my friends hatches constantly and a pet shop buys them all from him, but thats down in London

6 Wyandotte eggs, mixed colours including Millefleur, Buff Colombian.

4 Wyandotte eggs, sex-linked. Girls red laced and boys mis marked silver laced

 

 

 

About to get the incy running

 

Any tips for incubation please? Have read up but the first time is so scary

I didn't realise this was the first time you'd incubated?!?

 

Well I would normally start with the wait until spring spiel ... but I know you'll keep them inside/warm ... bit late now anyway

Have a gander at the incubation sticky

 

Has the incy been left running for a few days? If not pop it on now, and leave the eggs to settle and set them tomorrow, so that you can set all the temp and humidity and get used to it. Then tomorrow turn it off, set the eggs and back on, so the eggs slowly warm up

Any specific qu's?

I've incubated under hens and with a friends incy but she set it up and kept it at her house

 

The eggs are arriving thurs/fri so will start it up in the morning? and check its all working and keeping at a steady temp etc.

Be careful with the egg holding rods in that inccy, its easy not to get them tight enough or make them too tight they crack the eggs
