Strictly speaking this exercise ball was Oscar the hamster's Christmas present but I suspect Riley likes it more than the ones he was given .

We had a ball like that for the gerbils when I was growing up, and our very clever Shetland Sheepdog Benji would watch us intently and when he thought we weren't looking, he would swipe the side, making the gerbils exercise a little faster than they had intended

 

Thankfully neither gerbils or dog were harmed

My friend was looking after someones hamster and it was in the ball on the floor when we went in and my dog Tina said oh a ball and belted it with her nose - real wooden floor and the ball went flying - thankfully said hamster was fine - poor tina did not know why she was shouted at!!

My OH once came downstairs and saw what he thought was a birthday balloon on the living room floor - he very nearly kicked it across the room but luckily realised just in time .

When we had our hamster and he was in his ball he would chase the cats round the living room
