Who here is on Poultryland?

Recommended Posts

Oh I sold my serama! I don't really fully understand it all yet, but it's fun!

I now have...

A Rhode Island red male - production

An Imperial Asiatic male - show

An Australian Pit Fowl - female - game

A Sicilian Buttercup - female 8 day old chick - which I bought

A Cubalayas - male - show

& A Rhode island red - female - production

The Rhodey & the Aussie are both supposedly pregnant. Since when did chooks get pregnant? I thought they just laid eggs. I can just imagine a chook with a 'bump'.

I have entered a few shows & got show points. What the heck do you do with them? When do your chicks grow up? Do eggs just go in the incubator automatically? Do you buy the incubator or what?

P.S I think I have seen your seramas in the marketplace? :?

I'm saving up for a cochin now. 8)

That's almost exactly what I said when I joined!

You can change them into money at the bank (1 Show Point=100 Poultry dollars) or use them to increase your birds' abilities!

Chicks are grown up at 14 days old, the eggs are automatically set in the incubator which is free.

If they were pinkish and had Boatgirl's in their name, yes. :D

I have a champion. Her eggs are worth $140  I'm breeding from her at the moment. She produces partridge pattern on the chest area. 8)

I've also got a few chicks waiting to mature. I think one has the polish genes from its dad. (Apollo) So hopefully will have the crest & feathered legs. 8)

I need to think about a bigger coop.

Well, I've now got 2 boys and 7 girls, and 2 eggs waiting to hatch either tomorrow or the day after, and more 'pregnant' hens. (Shame I won't see all the chicks grow up but I object to paying real money to upgrade to a bigger coop  )

Can't get the hang of this showing lark though.

Some of your birds have created some of my offspring. 8) Hence the boaty names in their names!

I also managed to buy a grand champion black chick today for $50. Trying to get some black lacing going on.

I've seen one of your beautiful serama's for sale - a pinky purply colour. Lovely, but I don't have room in the coop at the mo. Just seeing how the chicks grow up, then I can sell some I don't want & buy better stock.
